    Hello all!

I am starting ariadna and I really want to focus on the beasts in vanilla. I understand the beast choices but the human side of the faction is kinda confusing. What are some good options for supporting a lost containing a bear, and many werewolves?

    Thanks!

Regardless of your main attack force, you're gonna need a smattering of big guns on platforms with high BS and durability, camo state skirmishers to go push buttons and mines to cover off the midfield. In vanilla you have an absolute myriad of options to cover these roles so it comes more down to what minis you own

Played against Ariadna over many years, but particularly last edition and a little out of date for N4. I've seen a pretty consistent pattern of things supporting the dogs, though it may need another AP gun in the new edition.
    • Spetz HMG: A premium "sweeper" unit. If they have units on ARO, Spetz can shoot them. If they don't, the dog can run forward more efficiently. The two unit types support one another this way.
    • Uxia McNeil: Can deploy on their front line to alpha strike a strong ARO piece, or support via scoring points as a midfield skirmisher.
    • SAS FO: An outstanding midfield skirmisher that can also hit hard up close. Typically scores points and is a secondary attacker.
    • Foxtrot or Chausseur: Other midfield scoring options. Foxtrot is super cheap. Chausseur is a better defensive option with sixth sense and a direct template. I feel the SAS is a better first pick at the moment but can be useful as a secondary choice
    • Unknown Ranger: Similar to Spetz, he is a gunfighter rather than a pure sweeper and gunfighters can synergize with warbands by clearing their ARO threats. He is less specialized at this than the Spetznaz but also is a better general purpose fighter and can push buttons. A unit that does everything really.
    • Desperado: More common in older editions, but another fast aggro warband. It can use smoke to support a stranded dog or drive in to blap something with assault pistols
    • More dogs and podes: Sometimes the answer is to ram one beast into their defenses and damage them, then ram another through the gap.
    • Duroc: Similar to the above, he is a slightly worse and very expensive McMurrough that enters from the enemy table edge. He can simply crash into defenses like a dog, or take advantage of all the guns pointing one way to stop the frontal attack, while he attacks from the rear. Given McMurrough was the pinnacle of dogwarriors before the bearpode, this thing is absolutely nuts.
    • Paratrooper, Parachutist Spetz, Van Zant: A different attack vector than the bear/dog, and can punch through something they may struggle with or open a path for them. Sometimes useful as an alternative attacker while you hide your beasts for a later turn.

Troopers with Sensor are good with bears and dogos, because they can reveal camos very easily. Revealed light infantry is trivially easy to kill with grenades.
