to be honest: i like what i see. I am not sure if we need another Kusanagi (maybe a non-spitfire version for everyone not beeing blessed with the defiance one), but she looks very nice. Also the Lady with the hammer from the dire foes pack. Not very infinity-like, i agree. But sometimes i need stuff like that :-D And i am just happy for a new Konstantin modell without the toothpick-thin needle sword. Yes, i see, the whole design looks kinda grimdarkish, but i think it´s still far enough away, especially when adding the own paintjob away from the red-black-dark and the lights that scream TGOTG to me. Overall i am just happy with the new design, i just dont like how CB presents it.
dunno if Defiance exclusive modells are something to be mentioned here. Kitsuni also got a Defiance modell, sooooo 2 modells for 1 loadout?
Defiance models are not generic releases, so I am not sure why one would count them as one, again though I am not seen the grimdark, there is nothing grimdark about it.
I once asked in our community about the style of N3 female sculpts. And the answer from a woman was, they are ok (speaking of showing skin, combat heels etc.) but she said that the 'sexualization' (not sexism) is not only visible in the female sculpts but the men are also 'ideal' and therefore sexualized. Plus there was once a discussion on a popular German tabletop channel where women said, they want to play such cool and sometimes sexy characters as well. So where do we start and where do we end? I think we don't need pinups in the game. I agree with that. But apart from that... women in real life like to look good as well and I expect men and women in the far future to be in good shape if they work for the military. Either because of training or biotech. Do we need weird poses? No. Shall they all dress like nuns ;) without any sexual appeal? No, at least for me. Back to the redesign... it is not my taste. I don't like the current artistic approach in Infinity for 90 % of the new products for various reasons, like being boring or not looking cute (yeah, I think old Bakunin looked cute). I will buy them to keep my collection up to date but maybe the next redesign will be more of my taste.
Come on, mate, there's a lady called a 'PENITENT' and two other are 'Cenobites'. Those aren't exactly cookie cutter, charity-driven nunneries. I agree the grim dark isn't as deep or over the top as the folks from nottingham, but you can't tell me there's no grimdark on a trailer that's mostly colored red and black and is showcasing religious nutcases with a heavy metal theme. Is it cool? Fuck yeah. But is is a little grimdark, come on. Still, as cool as this design is, I need to know what will be of the Taskmasters, moderators, morlocks, etc
If the Observance hadn’t been religious fanatics from the get-go, calling it “grimdark” would make more sense. However, they’ve been loons from the beginning, they just haven’t been the focus of the force.
wanna bet about fireteams? All in the box will have the Observant trait and will count as a pure fireteam and will be a 2nd option, Penitent fireteam, with sin-eater, penitent and maybe Cenobites?
Is the multi even going to be the general release, or will it be the preorder bonus? Because if it's just the bonus, she stays at only one SKU.
I agree. I don’t understand the grimdark comments. I’ve only played Bakunin since early N3 when I started Infinity and these models are 100% descendants of those original ones. These look wholly inspired by their original works.
Hey now, Bran was an orphan and he was brought up just fine. This is Observance, not Mr. Bumble's workhouse in Mudfog. As for the grimdark, GW toned their own down, so now everything looks grimdark. For some actually dark, disturbing shit in the Nomad nation, please check the Red Auction, the role of pupniks in the adult industry and what kind of conditioning the Sin Eaters go through.
Or the Hollowmen, the “care” Taskmasters take of their assigned officers, the Bandits’ conditioning, etc.
