This thread's a good example of different things working for different people. I personally have a hard time making short-range Medium Infantry work for me. I find short range to be a dangerous place for them, since the combination of slow MOV, 1 Wound, mediocre ARM/PH leaves them vulnerable to templates. I find myself primarily pairing Medium Infantry with big SWC weapons like HMGs/MULTI Snipers, so they can fill more a fire superiority role. But if players are finding success with short-range Medium Infantry teams, that's awesome.
You can take a Daktari as well. Linked doctors don't provide the same role, just take both. I'll have a Tomcat and Daktari. On Qapu I'll link up to two doctors with an additional unlinked doc.
im coming at this from an ariadna players background, But the Haris has some very big weaknesses that can be exploited. It wants to be midfield, where there are camo skirmishers.. that have mines... which dont care about NWI and dont care about ODD. There is also a vast swathe of DTW which will just trade up with that haris. Its even worse when you look at chasseur minelyaers which can drop a mine and have LFT and ssl1. Its a great haris but you need to be super aware of what it is vulnerable to and protect it from that and for that reason I dont think its Auto, If you play the wrong player or wrong matchup you have very easily lost 110points for very little effort from your opponent.
Currently I run this; Jurisdictional Command of Bakunin────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 KUSANAGI Lieutenant Spitfire / Pistol, Shock CCW. (2 | 43) REVEREND CUSTODIER Hacker (Hacking Device Plus) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 34) REVEREND HEALER Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, EXP CCW. (0 | 32) MODERATOR MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 17) MODERATOR Spitfire / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 15) MODERATOR Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0.5 | 10) MODERATOR Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) MODERATOR Combi Rifle / Pistol, Electric Pulse. (0 | 9) TSYKLON Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 31) ZERO Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 21) GROUP 2 4 2 2 ZOE & PI-WELL undefined. (0 | 47) ZOE (Hacking Device. UPGRADE: Stop!) Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 28) PI-WELL Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (0 | 19) SALYUT (Minesweeper, Repeater) Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) TRANSDUCTOR ZOND Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) MORLOCK Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Assault Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 8) MORLOCK Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Assault Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 8) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Which I think is pretty damn effective. Lot of ODD, great infowar, plenty of specialists, good firepower, loads of orders. Only real weakness is no MSV, but actually if you use Kusinagi to Spitfire stuff like TO Camo Snipers she's really effective at it. They can't shoot back effectively at all and if she's in good range it's 5 shots on 8s vs like, 1 shot on a 6-7 or a dodge.
I like using the HD+ Custodier instead of the AHD, so I can White Noise before turning the corner and shooting at MSV troops.
My meta is riddled with killer hackers, so having a custodier in an offensive link is way more of a liability than someting useful. Also, I feel that the odd swing is powerful enough on its own without the increase in burst. I’d rather spend the 60-ish points the custodier and healer costs on orders to fuel Kusanagi’s rampage. If hacking programs benefited from the link burst, I’d be much more inclined to run the haris. Also, wouldn’t that be an awesome, unique thing to add to Tunguska?
I used the above list today, it did really well. I missed a second Sniper but the two Spitfires outside the Moderators, one mobile with MML2 and one with ODD in a link, was very effective. Also liked having quite a few orders to throw into Morlocks, that was fun.
