So I’ve been running Bakunin in our local league and to my surprise doing rather well. I’ve been playing vanilla mostly and since we already had a vanilla Nomad player in the league, I thought I’d challenge myself and get more familiar with link team mechanics as well. Thought I’d share a list I had success with in my latest game, unmasking against vanilla Haqq. The thought is to have two viable data trackers in Kusanagi and the taskmaster, who flips into group 1 after someone dies. The rest are there either to bog enemies down, hunt specialists or provide orders. I went first and managed to identify the real target in turn 1 and had a Morlock nearby. I didn’t feel like gambling on my Swast surviving a trek through Haqq murderland,so I pushed the Morlock up and smoked the target, despite foregoing the 2 points. It turned out well, since I could spend the rest of the match depleting my opponents order pool and capping decoys. On my final turn, Kusanagi went on a seven order rampage, capping a Djanbazan, an Al-Hawwa hacker, a Farsan minelayer and some other dudes, allowing another Morlock to run up and bop the Naffatun lt. That's a list relying on a direct approach... interesting. It might be community dependent but I'd have a really hard time with that list to reach just one of the HVTs. Despite Kusanagi or the TM due to the fact that most of my opponents roll really well when it comes to save their roadblocking troops. (0 | 3) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army Originally this list was designed to be used in Transmission Matrix but thanks to the rerollable hacking attacks it's pretty effective (Spotlight the HVT, blast it away).
Yeah, it’s partially because I really wanted to try the Kusanagi Haris, but also due to the fact that I wanted some recundancy with specialists. Without them, your absolute max in this mission is 2 points. By stringing the Haris, you can save a lot of orders approaching th consoles. Smoke cover from the Morlocks helps Kusanagi get into murder range and she can deal with roadblocks while advancing. With relatively small changes you could fit a lgl in there as well, giving you that option.
Trip Zero KHDs (WIP16 to Reveal) + Lizard HGL datatracker can T1 Alpha this with a touch of luck. 8 Orders (assuming 2 combat groups for Morlocks). 1. co-ord Move + Move towards the consoles 2-4. Move + press button with each Zero in turn. 5-8. Lizard kills things. Either spent before moving the Zeros to clear off AROs or after you've pushed the buttons to HGL the DT to death. You can't quite build a decent list with the Lizard in 1 group with it's own 8 orders while the Zeros get their own 4+ orders with which to push buttons (or at least I couldn't get it to work). Even if you don't go hell for leather for the T1 pts, 3 x Zeros + Lizard + Zoe and Pi-well is probably the single best start to a Bakunin Unmasking list.
