Happy Days 3 2024 - Tohaa Edition Buying guide and list ideas

Welcome to this summary of buying tips for the Tohaa faction of Corvus Belli's Infinity game. Recently, Corvus Belli announced a “Happy Days 3 Tohaa Made to Order” bundle, allowing players to acquire previously unavailable Tohaa miniatures. The promotion runs from May 13 to May 31. The bundle consists of two battle packs: the Alpha pack and the Beta pack. If you're an existing Tohaa player, you can choose to buy one or the other, but if you want to start collecting Tohaa, it's recommended to buy both.

The Alpha pack includes three Makaul (two with heavy flamethrowers and one with a melee weapon), two Kamael (one with a combi rifle and pistol, one with a hacking device), two Chaksa Auxiliaries (with heavy flamethrowers), and a diplomatic delegate. Makaul, Kamael and Chaksa Auxillaries are essential elements of the Tohaa army, and the Diplomatic Delegate is a very useful unit for just 5 points.

The Beta pack includes two Kaetlar specialists (one with combi rifle and one with light shotgun), two SymbioMates, two SymbioBombs, a Nikoul ambush unit, a Sakiel with Spitfire, a Sukeul regiment with missile launcher + light shotgun and breaker pistols, and Aelis Keesan. Kaetlar specialists and SymbioMates are widely used units in Tohaa lists, and the Nikoul unit is a player favorite. Sakiel and Aelis Keesan are useful units in some army lists.

In addition to these packs, it is possible to expand your Tohaa army with miniatures currently available from Corvus Belli, as well as with secondary market options. With the miniatures in these packs, you can build competitive army lists for Infinity.

In short, if you're interested in Infinity N4's Tohaa faction, this “Happy Days 3 Tohaa Made to Order” promotion is an excellent opportunity to acquire essential miniatures for your army. The Alpha and Beta packs provide key units for the Tohaa, and can be complemented by additional miniatures available from Corvus Belli and on the secondary market.

In Infinitythegame, both the Alpha and Beta packs do not allow you to build a full 300-point army list without using proxies (you're limited to around 250 points). However, by adding a few extra elements and accepting proxies, it is possible to build a competitive Tohaa army list in any situation.

The Tohaa is a faction for which proxies have always been common, as many profiles have never had associated miniatures forcing you to swap an existing tohaa miniature for another tohaa. Unfortunately, the faction doesn't lend itself well to proxies, as all the miniatures have alien looks and weapon designs different from other factions, nevertheless there are still the Onyx tohaa (the fraacta to make a gao-tarso jump unit and the maakrep to represent a symbio-armor shooter) to some extent and there are non tohaa profiles in the faction.

Recommended items to complete the Alpha and Beta packs include the Libertos Freedom Fighter with its light shotgun or the motorized Bounty Hunter, we could also mention 3 of the Beasthunters profiles that could be useful and the Greif Operator.
    - The Libertos is the less expensive of the two, and allows you to add an extra irregular to reach 15 troops.
    - The motorized Bounty Hunter is more expensive, but a very effective piece in Tohaa lists.
    - The Greif Operator, which is also part of the Combined Army range, could also be used on its own or as a proxy for a Jean Staar, which can be used to play the Impersonation game mode that is very newest in Tohaa history and particularly effective in Infinity N4 (see tactcia by diphoration).

We also recommend adding a Gao-Rael (the Maakrep trackers miniature in the Onyx could stick), as this miniature can be used as a proxy for several different Tohaa units. Although this miniature is not included in the army list shown at the end of the video, it does offer additional options for list building.

In summary, the Alpha and Beta packs are an excellent starting point for a Tohaa army, but it is recommended to add a few more elements to build a complete and competitive army list. Proxies are common for Tohaa, and the faction lends itself well to this practice. Recommended items to complete combat packs include the Libertos Freedom Fighter with light shotgun, the motorized Bounty Hunter and Gao-Rael.

TOP 3 non tohaa profiles available:
    - Libertos Freedom Fighter
    - Motorized Bounty Hunter
    - Greif Operator
    - Beasthunters (these are frontier mercenaries; any light infantry mini, preferably mercenary, can represent this profile).

    Summary of possible proxies:
    - Greif Operator to proxy Jean Staar, or Kiiutan, or just serve as Greif.
    - Maakrep trackers to represent a symbio-armored troop on foot like the Gao-Rael.
    - Fraacta which can represent a Gao-Tarsos but this one can be played, however if you have to buy the Onyx box to get the Maakrep, you'd be interested to know what the Fraacta could be used for.

Assuming you only buy the two Happy Day packs and one Libertos, which is the cheapest purchase option in terms of figurines, here's what you can do with a little of the limited non-available profile options. It's important to note, however, that this involves a fair amount of proxying.

Using the available miniatures, we can create a Tohaa army list using the following proxies:
    - Libertos, who will be himself,
    - Aelis Keesan and Sakiel will pretend to be Taqueul.
Thus, Aelis will be a Taqueul Viral Combi rifle, the Sakiel Spitfire will be a Taqueul Spitfire with chain of command, and to complete the picture, the two Kamael infantry lines will be Sakiel.

This gives us an army list composed of three triads, each containing a specialist.
    - The first triad includes the Taqueul chain of command + Spitfire, the Sakiel Paramedic and the Makaul.
    - The second triad includes the Sukeul Commando, the Kaeltar Chain of Command and the Makaul.
    - The third triad includes the Taqueul Lieutenant, the Sakiel Paramedic, the Kaetar Specialist and the Makaul.
We also have a diplomat on the list.

Although this list requires a lot of proxies, it is solid and competitive. If you were forced to play this list in an event, you'd feel relatively comfortable. The list includes three SymbioMates, which can be applied to Sukeul, Nikoul and Taqueul Spitfire.

In terms of purchasing options, you can add the Gao-Rael for added flexibility to the list. You can also add a motorized Bounty Hunter, replacing one of the Chaksa. This will give you three irregulars in the list, which can be useful for early attacks.

If you want to reduce the number of proxies, you can look on the secondary market for Tohaa figurines such as the Rasail. The Rasail Combi Rifle and Spitfire are excellent proxies for the Taqueul, and they're very dynamic and cool.

    Pretty solid.

I had kinda hoped they would re release the other Sukeul as they are very much the staple of many lists. A lot of mine start with the excellent FO K1 combi profile.

It's really great to see even a re-pack and I'm optimistic that Tohaa will survive into N5
