Seconding this, PoR put a lot of time and effort into this guide, I'd love to finally see it given pin status
Unfortunately it appears life happened to him http://www.prideofrodina.com/2017/08/goodbye-for-now.html?m=1
Ahh too bad. Would be great, if he manages to get back soon. In general, it feels like we lost a lot of people here on the CB forums, during the last year. I hope this isnt a trend that goes on for long.
He will return when able, I have a feeling he'll be reappearing once the sectorial is formally released :). I agree with the desire for this to be pinned.
Been lurking since the old forums shutdown! Looking forward to Pride of Rodina's return upon release of this sectorial. In the meantime, beyond the new starter box and a kazak spetsnaz, what do you feel will become the main stay of any starting lists and important purchases to kickstart into this sectorial? Happy to make a new post or add this q to the speculation thread if required.
Welcome back infy. For main stays I would say Scouts and Tankhunters are critical. I honestly never leave them out of my lists. The Ojotnik is probably one of the best weapons in the game since opponents are always caught off guard by its rangebands. It's gotten to the point where my local warcor started Ariadna partially based on my Scouts' performance.
Many thanks for your reply! I've just ordered a shottie and hmg spetsnaz models and waiting on the kazak split from coldfront. I'll be hoping to pickup a normal release of the strelok and the tankhunter hmg model along with the vassili beyond box. I'm kinda hoping for a new ojotnik scout release though. Do you think dog warriors or antipodes will be worth the heavy cost investment given the new models coming out? Struggling to justify either purchase.
In my vanilla I almost never used Scouts since they always underperformed for me, and tankhunters were left at home the moment Spetnaz came out(okay I take em for fun sometimes in non competitive games), and I consider Ojotnik one of the worse weapons we have available....
Man, that's really too bad you've had such bad experiences. Scouts aren't necessarily an attack piece, they are better at doing camo infiltrator things while taking advantage of the Ojotnik's rangebands (+3 from 8 to 32 is huge) to set up unfair fights. You should always be shooting from places that make your opponent uncomfortable. Tankies can be a bit of an odd duck, but the PAC has never disappointed me. He is a great attack piece on turn 1 and 2 and an amazing ARO piece in turn 2 and 3. As long as you feel out the tempo he will not disappoint. The CoC option will be much more prominent in the future. As for Spetz, I never make a list without at least 1. It has made me a bit predictable, whenever my opponents see 2 camo markers in my DC they audibly groan. I would go as far as to say they are the best attack piece in vanilla.
Both are amazing units (nothing shreds a TAG like Antipodes) and have modern models, they're CAD sculpts by Fausto Gutierrez and the new Strelok K9 is clearly based off the Antipodes from the box. I wouldn't worry about them being superceded any time soon. They are expensive (due to having more metal than most TAG boxes) but both have done excellent work for me in games.
HMG spetnazs being best attack piece in vanilla, I do agree, effective BS15 with shock, he can take on most things, unless you have some TO camo sniper out of his favorable range...I don't see point in taking sniper ever, nor AD rifle, BSG maybe for fun, though he can be a bit expensive just as throw away piece, since a lot of times my enemy has templates on troops he could face, so it becomes risky trade off.
The sniper profile is overcosted by 1 SWC, so it's usually not a great choice, but both AD profiles are pretty great. The rifle might not be able to drop shock templates like BSG but he can go into supressive fire in an uncomfortable position for your opponent, making any shots against him automatically take a -9 if he is in cover
@Audun54 can you save and upload it somewhere? At least so there is a backup of it, to use as a starting point.
@SirGrumpyPants Can do, Tactica I'll reach out to @Pride of Rodina to see how he wants the tactica to progress in the future. After all, this is his baby even if he is taking a step away from Infinity. Maybe I'll update it somewhat to reflect it officially becoming a sectorial though I have a newborn boy that is quite demanding. Edit: Got approval from Pride of Rodina to work on updating the tactica.
