I look forward to whatever TAG its going to be. I'm just happy we finally get one, whether a tank or RM100! Generally, i always think that although Ariadna is archaic to the other factions, it is still a well 100 years into the future from our present days. So i don't see a bulky 9+ ARM TAG as something which goes against what Ariadna is supposed to be. Although that suggested Dog Warrior being given Mormaer armour sure sounds spicy...
We could build a TAG today, and the problems it would have compared to the sci-fi vision of a mini mecha would be akin to, say, a WW1 tank versus a modern MBT. Our "Modern" TAG would be slow, cumbersome, have power supply issues, reliability issues, etc. Ariadna has the tech to build superheavy powered armour that is actually about the same size as a Gecko but is totally S5 you guys, scaling it up isn't implausible, nor is it really that impractical given Ariadnan access to neomaterials and black market/reverse engineered tech from the wider Sphere. If Infinity is meant to truly be a progressing narrative, Ariadnan adaptation to modern warfare isn't just sensible, it's inevitable.
Since they discontinued MRRF by saying that their forces got severely decimated in an assault, I have been thinking, a good way to reintroduce them and revamp them would be to make them a bit more "advanced" than other Ariadnans. Basically, after they got messed up, they decided it was smart to invest heavily in R&D to make up for their lack of numbers. Reverse engineer some tech and come back with their troops having a little bit of the more "advanced" gear like MSV2, Hackers and maybe even a, for real, Heavy Infantry. A janky TAG would fit right in there... even if I would still rather have a mini-tank/armored vehicle personally. In game, I dunno if it would be amazing but I like the idea of an Arianan faction going out of their way to tech up.
I think this tank, will be a TAG Raid compatible release, so both mining and combat themed, with a Kazak origin of course. I present to you exclusively... the Walker ЭШ 6/45 of battle : Spoiler: TAG Kazak Ok Ok i out
"We've spent sixty-nine billion on Projeckt RM-100 over twelve years..." "Nice." "...Yes, whatever, but... we don't actually have anything, we haven't even corrected the spelling of 'project' for goodness sake! Voronin wants to see some kind of prototype TAG by next week!" "Let's stick a gun on a mining rig."
Isn't Kosmoflot this kind of arianan faction? I mean: Better Podes, more advanced Armor (Kosmosoldat) and the new Volkolaks as Wulfers 2.0?
You're forgetting Infinity warfare is also batshit crazy. For a whole edition the apex strategy of modern black operations consisted of throwing two dozen poorly-armed conscipts with smoke grenades at the enemy, while about three guys with actual training and equipment did the whole mission. If Ariadna were to actually adapt to match Infinity's N4 modern sensibilities, they'd have Pitchers instead of Rifles and a Dog-Warrior crammed into a stolen Interventor rig spotting for a big pile of Muls.
And even weirder, it suddenly changed to sending in military soec gear like tags and super HI. No chance of that being identified and linked to your force when chunks got shot out of it on the street eh?? Lol
I actually wouldn't mind something closer to Maggie. Ariadna tech is old and big, not to mention they might be more willing to take on bigger sculpts with their fancy new plastic. Although a mbt in infinity scale would be gargantuan. Bigger than the megalodron.
Well we now know the code one TAG box for Ariadna. Edit: originally this was a post poking fun at the release but after some time I felt bad about it so I changed it. Sorry. Ariadna did not deserve to be lied to.
If you mean just changing their troop type, that'd be a straight nerf. An extra point of STR on the good profile, TacAware, and BS Damage +1 starts to look appealing, not sure if it's worth the tradeoff for being vulnerable to possession though...
That is exactly what I was thinking. Make them the centerpieces of the army. The Blackjack was always a little big for S5.
Ok, CB released this "TAG" for tag raid: For C1, instead of releasing a military version of the mining tag, they release a >HI< of the N4 as a "TAG"... Logic. Sterling Forge must have compromising files on Ariadnan politicians for us to get a "HI" blackjack, instead of a "tag" cavecrawler bis. On the other hand if now, they classify blackjack as TAG in C1, maybe we should anticipate that they will reclassify blackjack as TAG in N4.
I find it sad. TAG Raid TAG has very cool design and it would be great to see it with some heavy weaponary instead of arms. I guess miners on Ariadna need tags more than military.
Indeed very confusing that CB makes an Ariadna TAG for TAG Raid and in the same breath releasing a fake TAG for the TAG Box in C1 ... they even could use the base design of the TR machine to produce a real TAG for C1. But maybe they want to make a clear line between C1 and N4.
