in Army Valery Gromoz (DBS) is classified as a "Mercenary Troop" and not a 'Character'. Does this mean she is not a 'Character' for ITS objectives (not granted Veteran in ITS 10).
Currently, they do not count as a Veteran Troop unless they are listed as Characters. However, @HellLois was interviewed recently on White Noise and indicated they were working on a fix to this - to my knowledge, it has not yet gone into effect. edit: changed a confusing phrase.
We are already playing with the fix because without it some armies are really penalized. Star Co for instance doesn't have a single "Character" in it's roster, all it has are mercs with names.
They also have 1 Vet, 1 Elite, and 1 CoC who can do the exact same classified as Characters. I agree it is very low comparing the total sum of Vet(+Character who count as Vet)+Elite+CoC with from factions and sectorials. Adding named models only adds 5 more trooper (as Emily is already CoC), from 3 to 8, which is not too much, reasonably close to some other faction or sectorial.
I feel like "character" status should be denoted some way other than the troop classification. Mercs just emphasize this.
Works for me, though that might require some changing of database coding (changing cell type from 'number' to 'letters&numbers')
