New units look cool Wonder if those are the only Unit-9 profiles or whether in the full release they'll be a Spitfire Limited Camo version and maybe some sort of other ODD/ADL2 loadout.
Incidentally the Locust CAT is still better than the Unit-9, as it has proper infiltration, can fight a bit in CC (actually good against skirmishers with Camo and TO Camo!) and has better guns. The lack of X-Visor and Mines makes them defensively not quite as good maybe, but I'd still rather have the Boarding Shotgun/Drop Bear Locust, as they're just such horrendous assault troops.

I don't see how. She doesn't have any reliable way to get the edge in face to face rolls now. Sure, she can take a single hit now, but without a B4 assault pistol she will have to take hits more than before. Especially since if they spread out to avoid getting flamed, they might spread out in a way to let her zip through a sequence of one on one rolls that she can win with the pistol. Especially if her mobility can let her deny cover. Seems like as soon as JSA pulls off the succession, she puts on 6 points and stops doing the one thing that gave her a way to sometimes get an edge.
And becoming a WIP14 unhackable specialist on a bike! Well worth the loss of the AssP, I try to avoid getting bikes into DTW range anyway.
Asuka is not fat! She's thicc Also she's better in CC by far, and a specialist now, I'd say she's pretty good. She doesn't want to Assault Pistol people now she wants to get into combat with them!
With no smoke, the inability to take cover, no marker states, and no MA to her name, alongside a pretty bad CC weapon (it lacks consistency, she would have been better off with DA or EXP if she wanted to reap things) she makes a pretty poor CC specialist. CC22 does not a combat monster make. Still better off shooting things, but she'll have a harder time in CQB because her B4 got taken away as well (leaving her only the more risky LFT). V: Dogged and being a specialist are what make her worth using, her combat abilities are nothing to write home about and trying to use that CC score is just going to get her killed.
Against anything that is not good in CC, CC 22 and an AP-Shock CCW is going to do a nice, solid job. So I think I shall use her in CC, and I think she'll do great. You do whatever you want with your own list! I will be putting her in mine to kill things. Although I'm getting rid of that scythe, just not my aesthetic for the game.
It was pretty funny watching the BoW video where the Killian fill-in was pretty unimpressed with her. I'm surprised that mounted units with a CCW don't get some bonus to attack or damage for momentum.
The closest thing to her is Penny, who has a better to-hit mod and an edge in CC; not-Asuka gets Specialist and costs less. There are a few other offsets as well but those are the biggest (in my opinion). I donno, I think you guys just need to reconcile yourselves to the fact that not-Asuka occupies a new niche, and then use her accordingly. Her profile looks useful and she's not over-costed. And think of it this way, it could be worse: CB could have just killed her stone dead like they did Toni. *shrugs*
I'm thinking about shortening it and adding a chain to make a kusaigama. Blade will still be too big so I'm not sure what I'd do about that. Be interesting to see what shows up in the modding thread though.
