Ah what a shame! I expected a full faction. Oh well, it's good we are told it's just a sectorial with limited releases. Otherwise people could be very disappointed!
You guys totally don't get it. Tohaa fraction is a CB's solution for people living on tight budget. The new releases are almost non existent so it's not really a problem to buy that one or two miniatures per year. On the other hand to do something about collectors pokemonis Tohaa got pokemons. Literally.
With the whole discussion on JSA/Yu-jing, i forgot what are April release (and 129 pages are too much to reread) Is it only JSA army box and uprising book ? Or is there something else ? From what I understand, today tohaa are one of the tohaa sectorial, tohaa vanilla will be trièdre (next sectorial) + today tohaa It just mean CB released a full sectorial before releasing vanilla
In all seriousness - no, this was not what the Tohaa were supposed to be or are atm. At least this is not what was in any marketing material anywhere.
I think the whole thing is taken dramatically out of context. Tohaa are a faction, the problem is they are designed to function as a sectorial this creates a problem in adding actual sectorials and enriching the Tohaa roster. This what the whole "tohaa were designed as a sectorial" means and why they take so much to design new units, you cannot use the same process everybody else has to create a sectorial, the link team function is in the core gameplay and it is unlimited (in a limited form).
Can't we just have more models for existing profiles of previously 3D sculpted troopers? Getting at least the SMG Kerail or the HMG Sukeul would be nice.
Tohaa players are so demanding. We just got Neema recently, shouldn't that be that enoygh till November? Why bother doing miniatures for existing profiles or 3D resculpts when you can focus on creating new sectorials like tunguska :P
I used to (quietly) frown in the general direction of Tohaa complainers. Mostly because I've started following Infinity roughly at those times when they had some new minis last year, so it looked like they get new stuff as often as anyone else. What I did not know back then is which units Tohaa model range still lacked and what is demand for those units. The next step of this development was my friend who used to dislike wargaming stuff not based on more or less realistic concepts suddenly picking up Tohaa when I started campaigning for Infinity in our group. I did not expect that, like at all. Now I dread the day when he will inevitably come to me and ask, "So, there's this unit that looks like an important building brick for like half of the lists, but I think I can't find it anywhere. Where can I get some Sakiels?"
I present you Vedic, who got 2 models, of the same unit, and a box, in about 2 years (Garuda Spitfire & Boarding Shotgun, incidentally present inside ISS... XD; and the Posthumans box 2). On the plus side, money saved!!! Which tends to go to forking into more armies, so... -.-U
At least tohaa are an "active" faction and occasionally get something, feel bad for the mrrf and SEF players of the world who get nothing lol
