Hello everyone. Long-time PanO player who is starting to delve into JSA and managed to buy a decent amount of models over the Holiday season. Think I have a decent collection thus far but I am wondering what are some other things I can buy in the future to strengthen my JSA? Yojimbo is pretty awesome, but that's the only thing I see that's missing right out. He's your cheapest smoke carrier. Also you probably want either the O-Yoroi or the Yaokong remotes, those are your only decent HMG options in JSA.
Yojimbo I was potentially thinking of. Granted I did proxy him once but he got shot off the first turn, but that can be due to me deploying him poorly and that. :/ Bike I did want to hold off for a bit but since he is a cheap smoke option that is pretty solid. Remotes are always good too and O-Yoroi I did want potentially.
I'll echo Yojimbo. He's a Reason to play JSA. He can be a bit hit-or-miss, particularly if there's a Nisse Sniper counter-deploying him, but I have never made a list where he wasn't an asset.
Granted I do have two other accesses to smoke in my collection but I will have to pick him up if I need something more immediate. Granted the only game I did proxy him it was on a 36x36 board at 200 pts and a crocman came out of Hidden deployment and got the drop on me (of course not before killing him off with some of Yojimbo's CrazyKoala's.
Yojimbo teamed up with an Aragoto Spitfire is extremely nice. Rui Shi and a Husong Yaokong total reaktion REM can also be very useful. Neko Oyama, especially if you are running Haramaki.
I'd recommend two Keisotsu Missile Launchers for the Core Link, it gets hella nasty. Yojimbo and Aragatos are fantastic profiles, especially since the Aragatos are just regular Impetuous so you aren't obligated to use that order each turn (keeps them alive a bit longer). Neko is great with Haramaki and Domaru. And last but certainly not least, Shinobu Kitsune is an absolute beast. I take her over a regular Oniwaban most of the time.
Wanted to get an HMG as well and stick with one Keisotsu ML. Is that a good option or naw because Keisotsu are kind of garbage at shooting? I know at least I did need to get Shinobu Kitsune, but I see people recommend Yojimbo so it maybe a my next purchase (at least for JSA. Kind of need a Squalo for my NCA as well).
Keisotsu HMG and the LGL. Linked LGL is highly entertaining, and the HMG has decent BS in a link team. What I do instead primarily is write the name of my characters in Japanese Hiragana/Kanji in the front arc. That said, I do know the joys of LGL spec fire (primarily as a PanO player, the NCA Fusilier link can work wonders as such a low price point). That said, should I wait for the Keisotsu rescuplts or still pick them up anyways?
I'd pick them up anyways. IMO, the sculpts look good, they're just short. Challenge becomes what you want for your Keisotsu hacker (assuming that you want one). You can just use the afore-mentioned anime hair and say, "pink hair is the hacker", or you can sculpt hammerpants onto the Zanshi engineer. Me? I sculpted hammerpants onto a few models: two of the oldest Zanshi, the Zanshi engineer, a Celestial Guard sniper (headswapped), and I armswapped the Zanshi doc with the Keisotsu ML to have a Zanshi ML and Keisotsu doc. Because I bought my Keisotsu as two blisters and didn't have any duplicate sculpts.
