This looks like a lot of fun. Any chance I could get my hands on a copy of the scenario? No idea who is running it (or much else about it, obviously), but I thought it couldn’t hurt to ask. Thanks.
The one with each player having a powered-up Spec-ops and a boarding action map with various objectives and a dropship getting shot at by an autocannon Kurgat? I might have the file somewhere, but it might be on the backup hard drive.
Yes please and thank you! That is exactly the one. Looks like a load of fun. Let me know if there is anything you need on my side. Appreciate the help.
Hey guys, I'm not the one running it but I did write it so I totally have it if you want. I haven't ever posted it publicly because there are loads of surprises in it and that sort of ruins the fun IMO. Seems like maybe the (drop)ship has sailed on some of those surprises though. Usually, I just share it with anyone who asks for it on PM.
I don't know how you ended up doing this, but I've played that scenario once at a tournament and everyone picked a Muyib for their spec-ops because they're so much better than the other options. That was kinda boring I'm thinking about making 2 teams of 4 preset specializations (totally not related to the fact that I wanna run this for 2 buddies) and let people choose. Should look better as a spec-op gone wrong. I'm thinking something like the following classes (tentative version 1.0 obv): ASSAULT - Mov 6-2, CC 22, MA3, DA CCW, boarding shotgun, V:NWI HEAVY - spitfire, HFT, ARM 5, W 2 possible upgrades to PH/BTS/etc. to make him more HI-like SNIPER - multi sniper rifle, MSV2, Camouflage, shock mines, heavy pistol SPECIALIST - HD+, doctor+, WIP 15, assault pistol (no rifle!), D-Charges (this one looks kinda weak, especially if someone's playing him alone and not a team) ed: gave them some polish, it looks like this now: ASSAULT CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 6-2 22 11 13 13 2 0 1 2 Martial Arts L3, V: No Wound Incapacitation, Kinematika L2, Hyper-Dynamics L1 Boarding shotgun, Panzerfaust, DA CCW, knife HEAVY CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 4-4 13 13 12 13 5 3 2 2 Spitfire+HFT, heavy pistol, knife SNIPER CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 4-4 13 12 10 13 1 0 1 2 CH: Camouflage, Multispectral Visor L2 Multi Sniper Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines (3), heavy pistol, knife SPECIALIST CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 4-4 13 11 10 15 1 6 1 2 Hacking Device Plus, Doctor [Plus?], Medjector Assault pistol, D-Charges, knife [possibly some weak G: Synchronized drone, if no Cybermask]
OK I gave it some thought and bounced them off my friend, here's a more polished version: Code: ASSAULT CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 6-2 22 11 13 13 1 0 1 2 Frenzy Martial Arts L3, V: No Wound Incapacitation, Kinematika L1, Hyper-Dynamics L1, Scavenger Boarding shotgun, Panzerfaust, DA CCW, D-Charges, Pistol, Knife [very specialized but great in his niche, designated breacher; still wouldn't go toe-to-toe with Daturazis though] Code: HEAVY CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 4-4 13 13 12 13 5 3 2 5 Hackable V: Courage, Scavenger Spitfire, HFT, Heavy Pistol, Knife [Simple for a reason, he's the designated newbie character. Just stomp around and shoot things, in the meantime your buddies will teach you to use the HFT effectively] Code: SNIPER CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 4-4 13 13 11 13 1 0 1 2 CH: Camouflage, Marksmanship L2, Multispectral Visor L2, X-Visor, Scavenger Multi Sniper Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines, Pistol, Knife [Stats look like a lot but they're really not. It's mostly an indoor map where sniper ranges suffer, and the party has no smokes to exploit the full potential of MSV2] Code: SPECIALIST CLASS MOV CC BS PH WIP ARM BTS W S 4-4 13 11 13 15 1 6 1 2 Hackable (as Hacker) Hacking Device Plus, Doctor, Engineer, Medjector, Scavenger CrazyKoalas (2), Assault Pistol, Knife 1 G:Servant helperbot (Palbot stats) [Gadget guy, mission specialist, the one with lots to do but not enough time. Will probably need good management of his bots.] Notes: - CrazyKoalas and Palbot don't exist at the start of game, they get deployed in B2B with the Specialist when he gets his weapons back - you could switch sniper's mines for Drop Bears for more cinematic plays (at the cost of increased complexity though) - Heavy's S5 is only for fluff and miniature selection, adjust as needed. - If you want you can put Heavy's armor with the weapons - drop stats to compensate until he gets armor back. Works well if you use a Gecko or Anaconda for the Heavy. - D-Charges went to the Assault guy as the designated door breacher, they can work in tandem with the Specialist setting them off. Also the Specialist is now more of a "gadget guy". Assault guy's Panzerfaust feels kinda superfluous but it could make for fun "duuude I shot a Soragat in the face with a rocket" situations, so I let it be. - all ranges assume that ~70% of map is indoors/boarding action, there are a few outdoors spaces where you could move between buildings but not many, so 8-16 and 0-8 rangebands are most important, hence the X-Visor sniper - not sure why you'd ever use Assault guy's pistol, but there's gonna be some guy complaining about his soldier not having a standard issue sidearm/backup gun/whatever so there you go :) - not sure if the Specialist should have access to Cybermask. I might switch his HD+ to an AHD/HD combo, but I'll have to check the program lists. - order-wise I assumed that everyone's got 2 Irregular orders, plus maybe a few (2?) regular ones per group of 4. - I included the Scavenger rule in each profile because otherwise players will definitely forget they can use it.
