You have to listen for the asterisks when you listen to bostriaspeak. In this case I heard *terms and conditions are subject to change. Now everyone and their old mum from way back in N2 will get their hopes up. The teeth gnashing and endless comparisons come Gencon will be… …wait for it… LEGEND - DARY!
That was a lot to process. I am very excited and yet worried about what "Endsong" will mean for the setting and the game. Getting Warhammer Fantasy flashbacks here. Also, "Reinforcements". Is that just a flood of new units for each faction, a game mechanic or possibly both? O-Yoroi and Koalas are amazing, Patchers are massive chonkers. I'm mostly pleased with the new designs.
I've said it previously, but the ongoing narrative towards total war with the CA concerns me, since it turns a setting with a dozen of factions into a setting with two-three factions and this is not really good for a game that is centered around black ops. I don't get Warhammer Fantasy flashbacks like Knauf, but the direction feels limiting for the narrative and the development of the factions. Economic, cultural and societal aspects are both more predictable and less important during an outright war, especially existential war.
He said that new book will bring new "Reinforcements rule" to the game (and new units to every faction) and a HUGE army list update. I'm guessing it's something like deploying units during the game. Since they are adding new units to Combined Army (Commissariat Exrah) maybe every faction will now have an additional units to fight against Exrah units (with some new abilities). Any other ideas what it might be? Giant mechs to fight giant Combined army mechs? Airdropping units like Kosmosoldat/Sarko from ships? Orbital strikes? About Sekudroids he said: "He has an adhesive launcher, congratulations o-12, you're going to need this because I know what's going on in the future". Why do we need an adhesive launcher in the future? I got some crazy ideas in my head...
Quickest thing coming to my mind: Inmunity Total Troop with Vulnerabitlity(PARA AMMO). Regarding the Reinforcement Troops and Reinforcement Rules... Who knows? But hey, here is my wishlist 2 Cents: New Reinforcement Cost (RC) added to profiles, in addition to SWC. This RC allow any sectorial to add troops from their corresponding Vanilla Hyperfaction that are not present in their sectorial. The RC cost ranges from 0.5 for a basic troop type such as a pano fusilier up to 3 points for the most special and rarest of units such as the Avatar. The available RC for a game is exactly the half of the usual available SWC. The available Reinforcemt Units will be choosed from The Army by clicking an switch that toggle between showing either the usual Sectorial Troops available, or the corresponding Vanilla Hyperfaction Troops. At the inclusion of this rule, Vanilla Hyperfaction Armies will be either deprecated, as they're integrated in the sectorials by this rule now. Or they will be heavily pruned by removing all the sectorial unique troops, as Vanilla Armies will be able to access such sectorial troops by clicking the Reinforcement switch Toogle, that behaves in the other way for Vanilla Hyperfactions. For non-aligned armies an special selection of 'fake vanilla hypercorporation' troops would be created. Such rule will allow sectorial players to have access to some tools that are usually unavailable to them, but at a heavy restriction. Which will promote sectorial players to purchase miniatures from outside their sectorial. At the same time the game would gravitate toward playing sectorials, which is easier to balance, and easier to make things feel special and unique at the same time.
Sooo Adepticon´s Infinity Tournament is over, and it looks like the winner faction was no other than Foreign Company ! Does anyone know how to summon Brunix (the winner) here ? I would certainly love to read his approach to the faction, his lists, if he did use the Iguana on any of the lists... any little bit of information about the tournament would be great.
I have added a summary transcript of what bostria said in his video on the cb channel (post 58). https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/adepticon-gencon-2023-many-projects.41872/page-3#post-453346 ------------------- All the excluded figs of the gencon are going to be on tactical rock, I'm surprised I haven't read 500 complaints about it on the net yet. In the end the story of Acheron Fall and the strike inside the Shere became reality, does it mean that the story of the explosion of Acontecimento will take place? Given the change of direction of the lore and rules, we definitely leave cyberpunk and secret operations for epic hard SF and big battles. In his last video, Graviton said that CB could have changed the name of his book from End of Day to Endsong, due to warhammer battle and the trauma of the end of time that it brought. It's not a stupid reasoning, I agree with it. -------------------- The wonderful jim b recorded the physical seminar and with a 4k camera You know Corvus Belli, they made a video in their studio, but their physical seminar gives different information than this video, so I made a summary transcript of what was said in the video and I grouped everything by game, including Q&A. Corvus Belli Adepticon Seminar 23 4K Transcript: Joytoy: - The joytoy action figures come from the 3d files of Corvus Belli and the most popular sku (in general). - They asked for rights and files to make dog-warriors, nomads like hollow men, they also have views on team polaris, team strelock. These releases are not acted on but they have asked for these files. Warcrow: - Working on a 2 player starter pack so everyone has their player experience and they are working on a video (uncertain translation interpretation to check). Infinity Rem Racer: - The game was born during the pandemic and was designed as a family game not complicated - The boxes will all have 5 drones - The rem drivers characters are not exclusive miniatures for infinity n4, they were the first character concepts before they finally went in a chiibi direction. - In the demos they make, they make a simplified version, there is an advanced mode in the game. Takkure Acheron's Fall - The game is still in the stage of ship sketches and teaser. Infinity N4 - Bakunin is selling very well. - There was a joke about the old crazy koala and their quality at the beginning of the seminar, he spoke in Spanish machine gun mode so he didn't understand anything. Knowing that later it is revealed the new koalas, maybe all the boxes with old koalas will be repackaged. - There will be another army next year for the adepticon. - Reinforcement: Arrival of a new gameplay, with a logistic and strategic approach to the table. As it is difficult to line up all troops at once on the battlefield, a "2nd wave" will be necessary. This is the new type of rule that will appear in Infinity. There will be an update in the armies, with the integration of this rule to allow to make lists for the 2nd wave. Allow us to think of this 2nd wave as a strategic reserve. Infinity Campaign: - There will be another campaign and it will be linked to the book Endsong. Plastic - GW plastic is very expensive for Corvus Belli, and they don't have the sales quantities to support this investment, so they are looking for alternative methods that they are testing such as siocast and unicool. CB is not willing to produce everything at Unicool because they are afraid of the future and as a precaution they want to continue to manage everything from home, which has allowed them to survive for 2 decades.
This actually sounds like a really good update given it functionally means we're increasing the points level, and having played alot of 400 point games I can absolutely say Infinity is a much better game at 400 points than 300. Definitely keen to find out more about that.
Darn it, only PanO in those pictures is Angus in silhouette as an example of the range expanding. Guess we're sitting at the "unpopular" table with Tohaa until MilOrds needs another rework. (Or blows up the table with Acon!)
I'm happy to have the older O-Yoroi, I don't like the new one. Regarding the "reinforcements" and the new rules... really intrigued, maybe it's something like rules for allowing a certain ammount/points of troops from another factions?
I unfortunately missed the seminar even though I was right there! I wanted to ask a bunch of questions. I’m excited about Exrah being back. I’m sure I can’t use my old figures but it’s possible. I’ll guess that each faction is going to get at least one naval troop. I want a revise of Tian Gou. The Hulang looks cool but he’s not that good of a troop. For me, he costs too much to accomplish very little. So I won’t be getting it for a long time. The art for the Yu Jing RR looks great and I look forward to that. Now should have been the time they came out with the profiles instead of making us wait more than a year for them. The new O-Yoroi looks fantastic to me. Much better than the old one and I noticed a PanO Multi-HMG? The rest is kina Meh for me.
FYI, the REM Racers art is just that, not concept for miniatures. They're the original designs before they decided to go chibi with them. There might be a limited edition at launch or a even a generic general REM Racer for N4, but no plans to release them all as actual minis. As for the profile, it made sense when REM Racers was originally aimed at Xmas 2020, but the unpleasantness that year caused delays both with CB and their partner that's producing the game, which is also why the Xmas Yuan Yuan from that year has a copy on his bike.
They really need to stop putting the cart before the horse. No profiles until you are absolutely sure it's coming out. I don't like the proxy excuse either.
I'd disagree. You need to do the reworks in waves in order to preserve balance. But they cannot make releases in waves, because they don't have the capacity as a company.
Thank you again @Wizzy for doing the work to transcribe all the new info here for us! The news about Reinforcements confirms my suspicions. CB have probably been looking at how Conquest works for reinforcements, and will have their own take on it soon.
The new Dats are ace. The Rodoks though... What kind of a bloated, messy, characterless downgrade is this supposed to be? Old Rodoks or gtfo. Same for O-Yoroi, horrible chunky mess.
I hope this means they drop Siocast in favour of Unicool and keep producing most of the stuff from metal - not that new stuff will be still released in Siocast (urk).
