Another bright side: might get easier to use bitz meant for battle nuns from a certain grimdark parallel universe… where they are actually in scale, that is. I’m looking forward to seeing if they up the creepiness factor of the Sin-Eaters (assuming and hoping those stay). Always felt like their madness got a bit lost in the last couple editions’ fluff.
Most everyone’s crazy got toned down, but if this is happening because the Observance is fed up with the Social Energy, I would imagine we’re going to get some very interesting troops. Maybe Bakunin’s own ‘Hounds of God’.
Yeah, I was always disappointed about how "conventional" the sin-eaters look. I've seen their models used as other nomads, especially zeros and other infiltrators, because they don't look like someone scarred by the pain and violence that they've absorbed.
Hmmm… this gives me thoughts about what to do with the current Sin-Eaters, if the new ones are good enough to replace my old ones. Might convert the Mk12 guy into a Spitfire Prowler…
I was thinking, since CB likes to put at least one big standout model in those new Action Packs, Bakunin might get either a nun on a bike, or they turn the Sineaters into another S5 HI.
Please not a bike. I do not want to expand into another sectorial just to satisfy my need for Sci-fi futuristic cool looking bikes. I am barely avoiding the compulsion of making MO because of the montesa, and Tunguska is safe thanks to the non-linkability of the Zondnauticas. A mounted nun, and specially a linkable mounted nun, would be irresistible for me and force me to bite the bullet.
I don't believe sin-eaters will go s5. Bakunin has the s5 taskmasters. But I expect them to get shiny new tools like albedo. I'm also very interested in the commissar-like unit for the moderators, and I'd love to see the concepts for the new UFK. Maybe return towards the demonic designs? As for bikes - if we get an S4, maybe fleshy uplifted animals are more Bakunin-like s4 units. But I'm not sure CB will want to include the biohacking weirdness in Bakunin along with the Observance.
This, my friend, is why one just buys the bike models only and writes custom scenarios for them! [Had a scrolling-mode mission for armed bike races back in late N2/early N3 if you’re interested. Lost with the old forums maybe but could reconstitute it pretty quickly.]
Maybe rem racer by Ramper Design, thread here: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/is-this-rem-racing.41881/
Space ranger has up the planning of the adepticon (03/23/2023) and there is a demo for rem racer. https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/adpeticon-events-2023.41919/#post-449254 Spoiler: Rem Infinity Super REM Kart Racing 1:00 PM-5:00 PM Infinity Tickets:8/8 Schaumburg Ballroom Event Type: Special Event | Experience Required: Some Cost: $15 Event Email | More Info Players bring their favorite silhouette 4 Infinity Remote to battle it out in this battle royale race against the other players.
Adepticon (and most cons) require a paid ticket for each event that takes up a table. That fee pays the con for the table space, not the person running the event. Looking at the other CB events listed, including the Warcrow demos, the rate is $7/2 hrs or $15 for 4hrs. It's not the fan making the money, it's the Con.
Exactly this, unless the organiser covers the cost of the event (such as the seminar) you're paying for the table space and time, organisers can charge more but the difference is usually used to cover costs rather than actually make money.
Here in Spain, usually you pay the general ticket and you can participate most of the activities that are not tournaments
That tends to be the way at smaller conventions, Origins also has mostly free events but not much in the way of wargaming. Adepticon lets anyone not playing games attend for free, no badge is needed to get in the vendor hall or spectate games, I'm guessing that's why the events are more expensive than Gen Con which was $2/hour last year. I'm not as familiar with Adepticon but Gen Con is an order of magnitude larger than Freak Wars and that sort of space comes at a significant premium (110,000 Square metres, compared to 12,000)
As @colbrook said it's free to go in and look. I live right by it and go every year. It's pay to play. One of the reasons I love it. I hate most conventions because you have to spend money for the privilege of spending more money inside. It's like you need to spend money to a store just to go in and buy what you want. But if you don't buy anything you don't get your money back.
