He is part of the essential TAG support, not just thrown on top.
The unit he best compares to would be the Friar MULTI, but Infiltration and 4-4 would help with getting camo in your sights. Right now I have the Friar in my list because I felt like I needed a tighter DZ but I need some games in.

Anyways I'll probably try him, but I suspect I would use him a lot more in a Non-TAG list where I might have a handful of forward deployed troops. I'll see.

Yeah, I can see why you might see him that way, but I think that the need to support him midfield is likely to lead to the latter outcome.

    It's well worth trying 'though.

I deploy a lot of guys differently depending on the board, sometimes Tomcats are deployed without AD and I've had Bandits in my DZ. And I'd have a Krakot to help him out. But with literally 0 games I don't know yet, and for now I'm using the Friar anyways.

Again, even though I am not ( yet ) a PanOceania player, and even if the faction I play only has one TAG ( Which would classify as being on the heavier end of Light TAGs? I'd assume that's where the Guija lands. ), this is till some rather interesting and fascinating stuff.
    Again, very informative and interesting.
Great work, good luck on any future primers.

nah the Guija is totally an MBT. Its the most vanilla of the MBTs but with BS14, an MHMG and ARM8 its not a light tag.

The oyori has an argument for being light or heavy though

    Fair enough then, I suppose.
We don't really get access to the O-Yoroi anymore though.
But hey, the Guija is a solid TAG too, so I see no serious cause to complain.

So, I've been toying around with the idea of applying this massed armour idea to Nomads in the Army Builder, at least on an ''in theory'' level.
Managed to concoct up this list.
Thought I'd share it here, since this is the thread on massed HI/TAG use, after all.

I think this could be capable of pulling off something decent perhaps.

I think I'd rather have the chain rifle jaguar for better close in defense. Otherwise its pretty decent but I find the Iguana questionable compared to the new HI in nomads now. But thats nitpicking, the list can work.

that repeater on the iggy is huge if you are building with it in mind.

I think its one of the most underused qualities of the TAG by nomads, its ability to push into a position near an opposition HI/TAG and then be a threat without even activating is huge.

Unfortunately he lacks a hacker in his list to exploit that repeater. In which case I think I'd prefer a one of the S5 HI. But I know people have done quite well with the Iggy so it really is just nitpicking on my part.

The Repeater is there less so for tackling enemy REMs/HI/TAGs, and more so for attempting to elimimate ememy Hackers with the Zero KHD.

I have used this list several times.
You have two speculatives and you can advance with both the TAG and the fire team.
The Hexa I usually place hidden near the TAG in case any Hacker approaches.
You have orders to spare in both groups and specialists to do the missions.
And now linked CSUs can be useful.

    I kinda like Maquinista lol.

but on the whole, Im not really a massive fan of just "taking orders" in the form of 8pt mulebots or fugazi for no other reason than to have an order these days. I much rather spending the points to have a troop that fills a job in the army such as a Fusilier FO or backing up those fugazi with a Pathfinder or deva lt.

Not sure if this has been asked before but are there any major strengths to having a Bolt link list with an Uhlan? I know there's inherent benefits in having an aggressive Squalo LT but not sure its that clear cut for the Uhlan.

I ask mostly because Bolts+Uhlan "seems cool" as opposed to having an actual advantage in mind.

I'm going to be working on Iguana soonish. There's an argument for me between Vanilla and Correg.
Vanilla can drop White Noise thru the repeater on a Lt. order. I think most MSV troops either have ss2 from their Core or I can easily beat with a 14 BS HMG, but my experience with smoke+MSV2 is that it's more often about blocking out targets while you deal with others, so I dunno.

My current plan is to do Correg but I'm not sure about my Core. I might do 4 Wildcats to get the SS2 AHD, fill my Lt. for no SWC, and get an Engineer to get rid of IMM2 and Isolation, plus some B2 DTW for the DZ. I think moving a few points to them gives me so many points of support it's worth it over Alguaciles.

Of course McMurrough is pretty obvious giving me high CC in both numbers and power, Smoke and Spec Fire.

Other big downside to sectorial is that the only KHD is 12 WIP and Irregular. What I wouldn't do for an Intruder KHD.
