That would make sense. Mebbe another unit with structure? Itd be nice to have something else in tohaa that is a legal target for that one classified.
Yeah, it doesn't feel like something for Tohaa... it lacks at least a hundred of leather straps :p Also, the whole box is way too bluish, it lacks some other colour to counterbalance the blue (green is very close).
I find the colour choice and some of the design is a bit reminiscent of the Shasvastii. Do we know anything about the Spiral Corps background yet? Would it be possible that these are Tohaa with some sort of assimilated shasvastii DNA?
Symbiont Armour changes colour depending on the diet of its host and the biological makeup of the surrounding environments, if these are deep space reinforcements that came through the gate before it closed then it would explain the colour difference from the primarily planetbound Paradiso forces.
Somebody mentioned (no source) that it is a unit who searches for further digester. Therefore it is likely that it is a shadow corporation of the Triumphirat.
It's interesting that when you do a search for "Spiral" in the CB store you get the following units: Kaauri Sentinels Cube Jager Hatail Clipsos Kaeltar Specialists Diplomatic Delegate Kumotail Rasail Boarding Team Anaconda Kosuil Neema Saatar Chaksa Auxiliars Armand "Le Muet" Not saying these are all going to be in this new army, but I know some of them will probably be.
The list keeps expanding. Trolling or "work in progress"? Kaauri Sentinels Cube Jager Kerail Preceptors Hatail Clipsos Kaeltar Specialists Diplomatic Delegate Kumotail Rasail Boarding Team Igao Anaconda Kosuil Neema Saatar Chaksa Auxiliars Armand "Le Muet" Although I have to say that the aditions make sense, only Neema seems like a weird choice. Also, I didn't expect the Clipsos, I thought CB would keep it to Vanilla Tohaa.
Neema does seem like a weird choice, but they did just re sculpt her. I agree that everything else makes sense. I'm still not seeing the Kerail or Igao when I search the English search, but I was expecting both of those to be in the army long before we knew what the army was. Oddly I was expecting at least one more human unit in the list. Though looking around the Brawlers are not in the store yet. I suspect they might show up here too.
Actually, if you take a look on the book, Triumvirate's color scheme is green. The blueish one is for the Errant Fleet, so Spiral Corps might not be Triunvirate but a remnant of the Errant Fleet. Maybe they were in charge of maintaining the Daedalus blockade, they were surpassed by the CA and the remainder of the Errant Fleet's forces are now a mercenary company seeking works in the Human Sphere.
The Errant Fleet colors are blue with black armor pieces. If you look at the box the colors being used are the ones for the Triumvirate everywhere except the blue of the Symbiont. The buckles and details are the teal of the Triumvirate. The blue threw me at first too. Now these might actually be something else, but I am leaning Triumvirate at the moment.
Now that I am looking closely at the detail on the Errant example, the detail pieces for it are also teal... Ok, I have no idea who these Spiral guys are supposed to be. White armor bits like the Paradiso/Triumvirate armors, but blue Symbiont like the Errant Ship units.
Maybe this is the rumored "Exalted Sectorial"? After all, and according to the Store, there are lots of non-Tohaa models there: Chaksa, Kaauri, Symbiobeasts, Taara, the new-Kaauri...
The art work has them mislabeled. If you read the descriptions in the book the Errant Fleets are the green and Triumverate are the blue.
Maybe is that way in the English version of the book. In the Spanish version of the book, the description of the Errant Fleet says they're blue, and it coincides with the art work. And I asume that Gutier writes the lore in Spanish...
It's going to be interesting to see if the Hefty Boi is a genuine melee heavy infantry or more like a Daiyokai which tries to be both ranged and melee at once and ends up being kinda bad at both. In the absence of any information I'm choosing to be neither optimistic or pessimistic, but an up-armoured, heavy melee trooper would definitely be something I'd try to make work.
