It's a blitz list with few tricks for a Shasvastii army and many counter-tricks.

Round 1 you just scream the Taigha up the table. With Extremely Impetuous and M 6-6 they can get insanely far in one round. The Gwailo forms a Harris with the two M-Drones. The Mentor lol any Strategic Use the opponent does. So the opponent has to be able to deal with three models with MSV2, models that are beyond expendable (with templates) and a Speculo in turn 1. The Gwailo also has hacking protection from the Repeaters in the M-Drones.

And the list has four specialists to touch consoles with as well.

Tbh I'd downgrade one M-Drone to non-FTO, and use the points to get two Slave Drones for Dr Worm. This will be more useful than dragging both drones behind Gwailo.

Another thing to consider is to move one Taigha to the main group. Sometimes you want a warband to perform a long kamikaze run, so the ability to pump several regular orders into it can be handy.

I've considered that and discarded it. When I make a list I think about how I would play against it and an obvious Rambo suicide model in a combat group flags my "obvious target alert. It's only really effective if I get turn 1 and that's uncertain. Killing it would both reduce my options and reduce the overall options for the group as I would now be an Order down for even if I wanted to convert it with CP and an obvious strategy.

The Army goes for overwhelming the opponent with threats. If they do for the Taighas they have an angry Speculo and Gwaílo Harris to deal with. If they go for the Speculo and the Gwailo they have eight angry Taighas to deal with and with a massive point investment of a whole 40 points even if all three threats are killed there's still the rest of the army to deal with. It's the same reason the Gwailo is in a Harris instead of a Duo.

This Army is in no way designed to be annoying by staying power, there's Haqq for that. It's SEF the MAF way with a few tricks. Other than those it's about as subtle as a hammer to the face.

After the update SEF does subtle and straightforward equally well, so that's not an issue. But I think you overestimate how big a distraction Taighas will be. Most of them will die to enemy AROs.

I think the best way to use Taigha screen would be to mix them with Seed Soldiers and other 'standard' midfield threats. Speculo is a step towards that, though I'm not convinced she'll be enough. Give us some after action report ;)

It's decent I think. I don't think the Taigha are that much of a threat without any regular orders. Sure you can convert some, but even with their extreme movement they are not really attacking anything with just their impetuous and irregular T1. Plus against a hard ARO like a linked sniper or ML a lot of them will die and / or be slowed down by dodging as they push forward. The lack of smoke and the big first move means it's hard for them to skirt fire like a lot of other WB. I feel without any regular orders they are still great but they are more of a defensive screen.

With a couple regular orders in the group you can push whatever one get through though, so if you want to go full horde style i might do something like this:

Swaps the Mentor and Haiduk Sniper for 2 Nox (Lt and dummy Lt) and 2 Ikadrons and a slave drone to get 2 more regular orders, (and pivot towards more close in defence).

That also lets you put the Nox into a 3 man core if you like and the board suits it, giving them double burst zappers, which can be quite a nice deterrent / fork in some situations.

This is a similar version of the same list that I had pretty decent success with. In retrospect I'm a bit mixed on whether the Gwalios should be a HMG or HRL, but the HRL points fit very neatly.

That's impossible as I have no expectations of them. At 5 ppm they're the definition of "disposable." Which is what I intend for them to be on that list. If I can get them in chain-colt range of a model in, for example, Suppression Fire then they've done their job as the model in Sup. Fire can either choose to doge and thus breaking the State or fire back, most likely killing the Taigha, and possibly taking one W in the process, which is a more than good trade.

With a horde of Irregular Impetuous guys, 2 Regular orders in the same pool makes a big, big difference. It makes every single one of those things a much bigger potential threat. Well worth taking it, especially as you gain the Ikadrons' excellent defensive capabilities.

I like @Hachiman Taro 's list, but with the Haiduk Marksman swapped for a sniper, well worth losing one Taigha.

I agree on having at least some regular orders. One of the things you can do is a coordinated order with up to four of the Taiga. You must use a Regular order to do it.

I'd also want to go second. if you must set up first, your opponent will set up good ARO just to pluck them off one by one. It's a lot harder to set up that ARO if they don't know where they are going to be.

Yeah i just changed it the minimum but if I was going to use it myself I'd look at swapping that Haiduk too. Maybe for a Nox HMG or Sniper might as well use the burst bonus at long range option there now you have the link. With dropping Dr worm to the Journalist smg that would give you the pts to make the Gwailo a HMG too.

I like people are making Shas lists without Sheskiin more these days. She can be a trap I think.
