*checks Uma* *double checks Uma* The hell is Climbing Plus, Mimetism, a weapon that costs 2 more than a combi and some SMGs at point parity with +1 CC, +1WIP, +2 MOV, Albedo, MSV1, Bioimmune NWI, Shock Marksman Rifle, Nanopulser, Blitzen and Breaker Pistol? Don't get me wrong, I actually like the idea of a fast and safe killer for IA and Albedo+Blitzen or Nanopulser promises to be fun, but the insane favouritism directed at anything from Aristeia is really beginning to bother me. Didn't Gutier say at some point that a human flat-out couldn't move faster than 4-4?
Normal humans. Enhanced humans are a different story. Lei as the IA posterboy likely has cutting edge armour. Haqq has Tariq and Mukhtars that already don't conform to the 4-4.
MSR Daoying isn't that bad. While often overshadowed by the hacker version, the sniper used to pair really well with the Executive Order Hac Tao. That was, of course, until they killed executive order for no reason.
Lei Gong is in line with Yadu, mostly because I don't think MOV is something that you pay for. I think questioning Uma is more appropriate. I mean, she's a Sekban without the very expensive 360 visor and while having dual guns is extremely costly compared to Full-Auto 1, there's something not entirely kosher with her profile, IMHO. Like... did you miss typing out "Equipment: Multispectral Visor L2"?
It makes her more expensive, but not that much more expensive. A Shock Marksmanship Rifle is slightly more expensive than a Breaker Combi and SMG together and if I deconstruct her from Sekbans, I get 30 points (counting Mimetism as 2 points) leaving the 360 visor unaccounted for and the extra movement unaccounted for. Looking at Thorakitai for 360 visor, I land at a cost of 27 for Uma's Mimetic profile, which is still a bit high due to the overlap in range bands between SMG and Combi and the fact that paying full price for only +1 burst on the SMG is a bit much. But accounting for the movement, arbitrarily assigning a cost of 2 for it, and without looking at her Defiance cards, MSV2 fits real nice both in terms of points and as a Pan-O equipment. Edit: Or put more simply: I've got about 7 points unaccounted for, and I haven't seen that huge discrepancy since pre-HSN3 Pheasant
I don't have the points costs to reverse engineer her from a Sekban, but yes, coming from an Intruder she looks somewhat overpriced. On the other hand, she gets Climbing Plus and 4-4 Movement, lots of weapons, but looses the MSV 2. Might be a few points. But my theory was that PanO gets a discount for TO Trooper (Crocman is cheaper than Spektr or Malignos and even gets a free X-Visor) but has to pay a bit more for Camo Trooper. Could be coincidence though.
Intruder comparison is much closer. Maybe even spot on, but... I always figured that Intruder being so old was paying a bit of a disincentive for the very powerful MSV2 + Marker state combo. Pan-O doesn't have a penalty on camo, there are no such benefits nor penalties in game. There are discounts and drawbacks tied to specific abilities which some factions might not experience (Medium Infantry has a small points discount, but you need MI in the faction to get that discount). I've reversed Crocman successfully before and they don't seem weird compared to others, particularly not the Spektr (Crocman has +1 CC and X-Visor at 2 points while Spektr has +1 WIP and +3 BTS at 3 points due to stat scaling - which leaves us at the Spektr being one point more expensive and that checks out)
When I work backwards from a moblot she seems to come out about right. I think people just underestimate how much having 3 guns costs. Her statline and a breaker combi on its own put her at 26pts (Breaker combis are +3pts over Rifle+LSG). I'm fairly sure SMGs are 3-4pts each on standard model (combi rifles are 6+ points. Monks pay 6pts to upgrade from chain rifle and Ninjas pay 8pts. We know that Boarding shotguns are -1 point on a Combirifle so a half price discount on an SMG is pretty likely) and the rest is climbing+.
Well from my limited use of Qiang, He’s unfortunately not that much better than a regular Zuyong HMG. I will try him again because I feel I need a few games to really be able to judge. He doesn’t shoot better, the Fatality 1 is ok but not great. His +1 ARM didn’t help much especially against a crit, and for IA the Vet 1 is not going to come into play that much. Yes he’s 1 guy guy that wont run away or be isolated, but he can be immobilized. I think I’d use im missions like Countermeasures, Highly Classified, and Hunting party, but otherwise no. Lei Gong on the other hand was great except for some cits that happened to him. And some of it was my fault for leaving him exposed on a flank. I didn’t use his speed much but the Albedo and SMR were great. I want to try him out withe SMG next just to see if I can get him in to an objective and hold it or flip it an go kill.
This is true but the judgement is limited to that came as well. I didn't explain that well. I'm still going to try him out more because he could have been meh just for that game. There might come one time where Fatality L1 really helps or the 4ARM.
I have not tested the profiles yet, but theoretically speaking the decision to play Qiang instead of a Zuyong HMG TA lies in your appreciation of Fat1 and the defensive stats vs the extra Irregular Order, and how much you are willing to pay for those. What do you guys think? Edit: Vet 1 is also important, specially if you are playing IA IMO.
This is spot on, IMO. In the best case scenario for him, Lei Gong walks freely under the blind gaze of the MSV2 linked Sniper, flanks the enemy DZ and takes a bunch of orders out of the pool with Shock ammo and a good range band. Worst case scenario for the guy, the enemy doesn't have MSV2 at all and he is relegated to warband-killing duty... And you get your Rui Shi/Hsien/Haidao + Monk goodness unopposed.
Are Aristeia characters usually permanent additions to the regular Infinity army lists? I'm sort of new to this game, but I know that there's been characters who were removed or moved factions.
All of then have been permanent so far. In terms of characters being moved or removed the only times that happened were Ko Dali "defecting" to the Combined Army during Campaign Paradiso in N2, and the JSA Uprising last year. There were also Bit, Switch, and Cypher who were available for all factions for a single ITS season. Bit was the only one who survived and she also "joined" the CA (chosen be the ITS winner that year). Technically we lost Izzat Beg in the N2>N3 transition, but he was replaced by Kasym Beg who fills very much the same niche.
Basically, Yu Jing is the only faction that has to worry about losing stuff. Everything else is pretty reliable.
