Shit's gone way over my head, but *if* it does only apply in F2F, would it apply in a situation where one model *is* attacking two models? The specific situation was much like what Arkhos mentioned - Achilles scrapping with MA4, splitting burst against two Makaul. In game we just said it didn't stack and beat the crap out of him anyway, but would be nice to know for future.

It still applies, but MODs only apply to the attack with the model who has them.

So in a fight between Angus and Chimera + Pupnik, Achilles would suffer the mods from Ikohl if he attacks the Chimera but not if he attacks the Pupnik.

Those are two different FTF. It only applies in the Face to Face that the owning trooper is participating in.

Each Makaul would be applying their -6 MOD to Achilles' Roll against that Makaul.

So the Attack against Makaul A will suffer -6 for Makaul A's I-Kohl, while the Attack against Makaul B will suffer -6 for Makaul B's I-Kohl.

    So you played it right.

Cheers. Though it is only -3, you got me excited for a second there.

Well I'm glad to hear this is being addressed. Which improves the game for everyone. But when these issues are brushed aside or I'm told the rules are clear... I have to assume these loop holes will not be closed. I don't want that, so i'll fight to identify them.

I highly recommend mentioning in the FAQ these skills/modifiers only apply to the users FTF rolls. Otherwise the wording leaves an opening in close combat involving more than 2 troopers. A case can be made where the -MOD from one attackers CC skill will apply to all FTF rolls made during one order sequence.
I want to be clear, I'm not misreading the rule. The rule was written poorly and allows for other interpretations. "No matter if" is far closer in meaning to "even when" than it will ever be to "only when".

The third example does not tell us anything definitively. CC Attack and Dodge are valid FTF rolls in which to apply the -MOD as they take place in base to base. It is not saying what skills can only be used. The example also tells us a BS Attack ARO can't be made in combination with a CC Special Skill for this very specific circumstance. But it doesn't tell us why. Any conclusions drawn as to why, are assumptions only.

I concede any further discussion at this point is purely academic. I agree with the intent and simply hope the loop hole will be fixed properly. I did find this thread discussing the same topic:

    https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/martial-arts-i-khol-and-shooting-haplass-targets.1762/

@Barrogh said something in that thread that I found worth mentioning again
"I'll take a third option: stop making excuses for subpar RAW "because duh, everyone knows how to play it anyway, so who cares"."

And this is why we will end up with a FAQ rivalling a phonebook...

    Also please behave a bit.
