    Greetings,

I'm trying to understand how Look Out! works with the implications of 1.1.1 and not needing to meet the LoF requirements.

Reading this line of effect from Look Out!
"Allows all other Troopers of the same player to modify their LoF without displacing, if the player so chooses. This will be considered as if the Troopers modifying their LoF had declared an ARO."

    My question is the following...
Does the preemptive declaration of Look Out! (from a ZoC ARO, without LoF for example) also trigger a conditional ARO declaration on every single one of your other troopers?

    - - - - -

Which of the following sequence is the correct one...

Sequence 1 (not considered declared until Look Out! is valid)
    • Active player moves trooper-A in ZoC of trooper-B
    • Reactive trooper-B declares Look-Out!
    • Reactive trooper-C wishes to use the effect of Look-Out!, but it isn't considered "declared" yet.
    • Active player moves trooper-A in the LoF of trooper-C
    • Reactive trooper-C declares Shoot, because they aren't considered to have "declared" an ARO from Look-Out! as it is a invalid skill
In this interpretation, even though the effects of Look Out! says you are considered to have declared an ARO is superfluous, and doesn't intervene with the preventing the player from declaring a ARO after the second short skill of the active player, as the effect of Look Out! are not yet resolved.

Sequence 2 (considered declared, regardless of Look Out! validity), following how Look Out!
    • Active player moves Trooper-A in ZoC of trooper-B
    • Reactive trooper-B declares Look Out!
    • Reactive trooper-C (a hidden deployment LT) declares they will use Look-Out! to change their LoF and is considered to have declared an ARO (so it is revealed)
    • Active player's second declaration is irrelevant for the example
    • Both declarations of the reactive player are invalid, but since the hidden deployed model declared a skill, it remains revealed.
In this interpretation, we still follow the sequence that Look Out! used to be intended to do, and we can reveal a Hidden Deployed model as long as any of our trooper get any valid ARO (regardless of whether Look Out! itself is a valid ARO)

    Thank you for your time!

This is incorrect at the statement that trooper-C isn’t considered “declared” yet. See the example the next bullet point in Look Out and the example, where it demonstrates that Trooper-C at this point is declaring the limited PH-3 Dodge.

Yeah, it’s CB’s frequent habit of having a rule describe an ARO or order using a collection mechanics without putting a unique name on it. But that’s what it is.
