It's a great conversion, both technically and thematically - there is a strong flavor of totally-not-[devil/Dionysus] cultists to the Observance (what with the drug dispenser HVT and pet demon-bots), so a trident is really on point. With the addition of the Zellenkriegers to Bakunin, there is an opportunity to mod something like a Maenad frenzying for some on-theme Bacchanalia...
Too bad I sold my Bakunin then ;) I will add the Zellenkrieger at some point, but to my Tunguska, not Bakunin.
The tiniest of updates: I rebased and reworked my old Lizard model: The Lizard was the first TAG I ever owned and painted, and I simply loved her sculpt too much to sell her together with the rest of my Bakunin. Since she's super old and tiny, she's actually more of an S6 TAG than an S7. So I put her on a 40mm base to be able to use her as a Gecko. While I was at it, I repainted her a tiny bit, turning the bright green knobs black and increasing the saturation on the olive to my current standard. Finally, I repainted her light sources the way I paint them now. Here's a side-by-side of the new one (right) and the original (left) to show the differences:
Here's a new Nomad mini, but she's not for me. I painted up this Ksenia Lavochkina for @khepri from the WIP12 podcast as a little birthday gift.
Not much to add to my Nomads these days, so I keep painting Nomad models for other people :P Here's the second half of the Daemonist I promised the buyer of my Bakunin collection. For reference: I had already painted a self-made decoy, waiting for the release of the official model. Here she is: And here's the whole unit, including the decoy:
After having played my first games with my Corregidor, I realized I really liked putting original models on the table. Since my lists all contain at least one Jaguar, I was looking for a way to add one to my collection. Peculiarly, I still had an original Jaguar body in my bits box (a friend gifted it to me some while back). So, I scrambled up together a bunch of parts from all over the place and frankensteined together something that looks surprisingly similar to an actual Jaguar model: The parts include: Arms from the Ariadna Spec-Ops 3D-printed chain rifle Head from a Crimson Stone Alguacil Sword hilt from the Morlock with hammer Sword from a Chaksa Longarms And here he is painted up :)
Another mini I decided to add to my otherwise finished Corregidor collection: Señor Massacre. Playing Tohaa, I realized how much I value Eclipse Grenades. Also, his SoF mini is one of my favorite sculpts of the entire game. I don't know if anyone remembers, but I already painted this guy two years ago. I just parted with him when I sold my initial Corregidor collection. While I turned him into straight-up Deadpool back then, this time I tried to stick to the studio scheme as closely as possible. Here's a comparison picture. Which one do you like better?
I see. Missed the chance to paint myself another Deadpool then :P Speaking about missing chances: With the spectre of the NA2 armies disappearing from N5, I had to prepone a project that was originally scheduled for next year – this list: MSR goes brrrr ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 1 FIRETEAM CORE KNAUF MULTI Sniper Rifle / AP Heavy Pistol, CC Weapon. That includes the one thing that makes StarCo unique imo – linkable Knauf. A BS14 B4 MSV1 Mimetism (-3) MSR is something you can't get anywhere else (yeah yeah, Yaogat sniper...), so I want to try that out. If you followed along, you might have noticed that my recent additions to my Haqq and Corregidor collection were therefore also StarCo sidegrades: The Al'Hawwa, the Jaguar, and Señor Massacre. Well, with that out of the way, here is the first true StarCo exclusive, Uhahu: As you can see, I did something with her I have never done before with any of my Nomad projects: I stuck to the official color scheme. More on that in a future post though. Here's a collage to round things off for now:
Thank you! Just copying the studio scheme like I said :) Here's another almost-copy, Emily Handleman. The one thing I changed was here eyes, since I felt the studio paintjob made her look a) too old and b) not like her anime counterpart in the graphic novel. So I gave her big anime eyes, which I felt made her look more like the Emily in the comic. I also gave her a simple handgun instead of her giant Combi + Grenade Launcher because I didn't feel like that fit her character, even if it's her loadout in the game:
Superb! I also want to try the big anime eyes look, but can never figure out how to fit them over the sculpted eyes. Edit: I also just noticed that with the hand gun conversion, she's now short of a holster
