So say one was to acquire the New JSA action pack: 3x Keisotsu 1x Oniwaban 1x Kempei Chain Of Command 1x Ryūken Surprise Attack, camouflage 1x Ryūken Forward Deployment 1x Daiyōkai 1x Kuroshi Rider 1x Kuge Delegate HVT What would be advisible next purchases to be able to field a flexible 300pt army? The temptation is to add an O-Yuri TAG and scrounge up 1 Keisotsu to make 10 orders @300points but I imagine that's probably *too* easy for a game like infinity!
The O-Yoroi is awesome. The nice thing is, most JSA units are not bad, so you can go a lot of directions. But I’d say Yojimbo is a must. He’s your cheapest smoke option and can be well worth his points if used correctly and can be a beast in CC. And the Crazy Koalas are a nice area denial too. The Karakuri are one of the most optimal combat specialists in the game so a box of those wouldn’t hurt. and the Arogoto spitfire and killer hacker (if the kh is not impetuous she can cyber mask which is pretty great) are both amazing, cheap and effective hope that helps.
I'd like to say calm down and wait until they show what will be released. We don't know N5 JSA army composition, vanilla or sectorial list, even they could get stat or profile change. I'm waiting for the PanO part of upcoming starter but I don't think it's clever to buy things now, especially JSA stuff.
You would typically want a few remotes too. I don't know if JSA will still use old YJ remotes in N5, but the profiles will undoubtedly be available, so just pick remotes that suit your aesthetic taste. Personally, I like the cheap Keisotsu purecore ML ARO team, so the Keisotsu SWC box would be high on my list. Agree on the Aragoto. With those two and Kuroshi rider you can go full Bozozoku gang Haris for extra burst and temporary impetuous suppression. Very Akira vibe too (I've painted my Yojimbo as an older Kaneda). Apart from those (which are unlikely to be in the new starter set), I think it's a good idea to wait for the starter set before adding anything else. There will be 7 more-or-less new profiles there, at a presumably attractive price point (if you have a use for the PanO minis and the terrain too, of course).
From the information we have from GenCon the current JSA army list will e the one of the two sectorials JSA will have.
Like other said, It would be very wise to wait until we actually know what will happen to JSA faction.
Indeed, it contains also the HMG, which is a cheap, disposable, quite powerful backup attack piece. BS13 B5 HMG is more than decent at winning FtF (and it will probably be BS14 because the Keisotsu will be BS11).
I got tempted by the bikers and Tankos. Sort of lumbering samurai with high tecch weapons appeals a lot. Currently it looks like the army has elements of BANZAI/early aggression combined with midfield skirmisher specialists and a basic backline
There was some rumor of alien technology on the planet, would be fun if JSA gets more Tohaa or El derived weaponry. Have those poor pan-o frogs run away with the ninja.
