Hello all. With the addition of a shiny new tag which we haven’t even seen stats on yet, I was thinking about things that could be added that would be cool or make sense. One thing I was thinking of was Hattori Hanzo. In history he was both a samurai and ninja, and is a very well known warrior in Japanese history. as a new unit in JSA I could see him being a true attack piece that has a mixture of survivability and offensive capabilities. he could be similar to the Shikami but kitted for attack not being a toolbox. The problem with Shikami is paying 40+points for a combi or contender. I don’t think they’re bad by any means. But they have a specific job to do. And they can wreck face when used correctly. But I could see Hanzo as a hammer piece. So I’d say no camo but mim-6. Forward deployment 8”. cc24/25 with MA 4. Bs 12/13 but give him a multi rifle or multi marksman rifle +1B +1 dam and a vorpal ccw (in the form of a shuriken) and eclipse nades. 1 w +nwi + shock immune for the discount that gives but like arm 4 bts 6 and give him a tinbot -3 that looks like a little chibi ninja or give him Guard to compete with Jamie and Andromeda. He could have a robo doggo or something. That’d be pretty epic. Feudal Japan revered dogs so that would make sense too from a lore standpoint. Just a fun idea of another cool hero and how he could add some flavor. Im sure there’s other ways to do it but it was just a fun thought. what things do you think would be cool to get in JSA?
And why would Aleph make such a Recreation for JSA? There's already Miyamoto Musashi, who is an Aristeia star (and was Recereated for that purpose, althjough what he does in his off-Hexadome time is another kettle of fish).
That was not something I thought about. But in all honesty I’m sure they could work it out. With the ever growing CA threat I’m sure Aleph wouldn’t mind throwing them a bone. JSA isnt exactly nomads when it comes to their view of the AI and PanO is a big supporter of JSA and they have deep connections to Aleph. So it wouldn’t be that big of a stretch. I would think this re-creation would be more on a military level then Musashi. But again, this was just a fun idea. Nothing serious. The historical figures in infinity is something I love and Japanese history that much more. I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave JSA some more freshening up in the future since they’re still quite popular and other than some general changes that came with N4 and the addition of Samsa, they are largely unchanged since N3. Not sure how they’d go about it, but my money would be on adding proper reinforcements that are not generic na2 that would allow them to add a couple new profiles and maybe adjust some existing ones to be more in line with newer armies. Then they could add some lore to move them forward in time to be more currant with what’s going on now in the universe.
To make a recreation is expensive, it needs a lot of computing power and time from Aleph, so either a power with a lot of influence to the AI or some really wealthy corporation could afford such endeavor. But there is a 3rd option, AI pet project, Wallace, Saladin, Avicenna and Achilles are not recreations ordered but created by Aleph for her own purpose, the first three to influence the minor powers and the latter to pilot an experimental Lhost body that would be a failed project otherwise. So while unlikely, there is a possibility, though I am not sure in the current situation if Aleph ahs time to spare for recreations. Musashi is not an Aristos anymore he run off when a fan tipped him they intended to change his personality because he was not enough "fancy" enough to please the crowds.
