This poll is actually 2 parts.

The first part is how to best utilize Musashi as himself instead of something between Yojimbo and Domaru and he is often not fielded for reasons brought up in various threads including the one linked here. In order to accomplish meaningful change, we have 2 goals: (Edit changing goals to better reflect historical accounts.)
    1. Goal#1 is utilize his WIP and CC better.
    2. Goal#2 is give him some strategic or tactical skill to differentiate him further from Domaru.

The second Poll is simply should Musashi have more CC or mobility skills to help him do that better? Link here.

I will add poll options if they are suggested by 3 different people and I'll leave the poll options open so people can change their answer later if they see something they like more.

My hope is that CB will make some changes for him in the next season and I encourage players to create similar polls for models in similar situations where a unit or character is lost with no clear identity on the field.

here is the problem Mushashi is a legendary duelist, not a leader so he shouldn't get COC or LT, the only change that makes sense is him being able to join different teams but as I mentioned he is a solitary duelist, not a legendary warlord maybe when we get Nobunaga or Yukimura Sanada we will get the sweet leadership perks, the way Mushashi currently is reflects his historical depiction(the only reason he did win 61 duels is because he never challenge the real beasts of the Sengoku period Yukimura Tadakatsu Honda or Masamune Date)

So you think, specialist, strategic deployment or NCO are out? And honestly, I wouldnt want to give him Strategos either, nor a Command Token now that I think of it but I wanted people tonhave freedom of choice and he was a strategist, just small scale. And he did serve as a retainer and counsel for a time and a couple of battles. Legendary duelist yes but surviving war and reaching old age requires more than just swordsmanship. However, I'm totally okay with any suggestions that reflect him using his intellect to benefit your force tactically or strategically.

yeah, they make very little sense with the way Mushashi is he is no strategic mastermind nor he is the kind who can take orders NCO is usually given to very disciplined warriors so that's out as well, I admit Mushashi with strategic deployment would be sick in-game but there is no way to make it balanced and he is not Sun Tzu skill like that should be given only to the top strategists however forward deployment profile would be nice as well as adding smoke to his profile and raising the cost a bit wouldn't be too bad he was known as a dirty fighter so using smoke to get in closer wouldn't be out of character

Interesting, I hadn't read anything about him fighting dirty but I do think he should be an even competitor against troops who have MA+NBW.

Do you mean it would be imbalanced if he had Strategic deployment pushing Tanko forward?

I think the problem might be in distinguishing some skills as strategic vs tactical. Perhaps using the word strategic for Musashi is inappropriate but tactical is not, that is if people generally have the same idea about the two in mind.

I'm not 100% positive it would be imbalanced but moving a link team as fast as the tankos even 4-8" could be very impactful, I'll need to test it out on paper it seems like OP skill for his price range.
You totally nailed it Mushashi should have a tactical skill, yes he was never the grand strategist but he did had some tactical knowledge that kept him alive during the Sengoku period it is unclear if he did take part in any of the battles he was too young for the majority of the major fights but if he truly survive a mess like sekigahara at the age of 16 he should get tactical awareness it is a skill that benefits both Mushashi and his link team.

Perhaps this site will help if you haven't been to it. Seems to be informative and this account of the battle you mentioned seems more likely as a 16 year old boy would be fighting alongside his father and I've read he was known by another name. It'd be funny if it was some Dread Pirate Robert's type shit.

    I'm changing my vote.

"From a young age I have, in all, gone into battle some six times, four times out of which I was in the absolute vanguard. This is widely known, and of course there is also proof of it. However, it is not at all with a view to advance my social position that I mention this."

"Having ridden into battle and laid siege of Tomiku castle, Bennosuke [Musashi] climbed the castle's ramparts some two hundred yard ahead of Kuroda Toshitaka's vanguard. There a yari, thrust through one of the castle's arrow loopholes struck him in the waist. Infuriated, Bennosuke called out to the soldiers lined up below, “They are stabbing me from this arrow loophole here. I will show you how to get rid of it,” at which point he put the upper calf of his leg up against the loophole and waited."

"During the siege of Osaka castle, Musashi, who was fighting with the troops of Mizuno Hyūga no Kami [Katsunari], carried a five yard long banner on which in bold characters was written the slogan: “Men from the realm of Shakya knew and practiced the laws of Buddha; we know and practice the laws of heihō.” I do not remember exactly where it was, but at one stage he was standing on a bridge, brandishing his long bokutō, and being cheered on, he cast the enemy troops off the bridge left and right."

His tactic would simply be being the first man on the bridge leading the battle, with two big brass balls.

A browse through the most reliable source the Internet has, Wikipedia, indicated that Musashi wrote about strategy, but it also seems to primarily concern personal strategy- something that ties in well with his current Aristeia! persona that plays to the "legendary duelist" archetype. I'd keep the current high WIP as mostly the attack stat for his Flash Pulse and focus more on getting him into his favoured 1v1 duels.

There's also the fact that, much like the rest of JSA and otherwise overlooked CC units in general, he gets way better on busy tables, so maybe make up a submarine interior or something to infuriate your local tournament scene with. Not every board has to be a perfectly balanced mid-range urban encounter, after all.

You may be right. And yes design space and direction for JSA and specifically Musashi is not bad but difficult. Anything that gets him forward in a different way than the rest of JSA is ideal for variety and viability. FD, SD, TA etc but how many TAs will CB give JSA is why I didnt add it but fuck it let's see.

I'm actually surprised people dont do boarding parties, hangars and big building interiors with lots of hallways and repetitive objective holding offices more.
