So how do we like these? I personally enjoy the general idea, but I'd have preferred them to realize their original concept a bit more. Cyber Geisha operatives are quite the stark contrast to Kawaii murderbots and they would have looked great in N4 sculpt quality with flowing kimonos and dynamic poses. I have to give it to CB though: The blank face visor is such a simple yet genius concept. Can't wait to see the expressions people will paint onto them. Oh, and that weapon is probably a placeholder - should be a PanO design, no?
those things are so cool I'm honestly surprised we didn't get one for Aristea as a character. As for the weapons, I think making external weapons is a huge miss I like the way they had hidden weapons in the concept sketches.
The 3D model is too small for the statblock. It's got 3 STR, ARM 3 and total immunity crammed into the space of your average heavy infantry's Bicep. Every faction in Infinity is an idiot for not trying to learn the high technology armour crafting secrets of IKARI COMPANY. JSA are idiots for not using this technology elsewhere. And total immunity is still a terrible rule. Otherwise I love the design, but not so much as a replacement for the creepy intimidating predecessor.
Although I like the general design of the resculps, they are ind a little bit short on the original Geisha concept.
But wasn't that the whole premise? That they are some sort of state of the art tech, folded 3000 times by Japanese super craftsmen?
I wonder if they'll get updated fluff. The face being a screen reminds me of Kozmo so maybe the girl that built Kozmo worked on these? Or she died horribly during uprising and her little sister worked on these, if CB wanna keep their grimderp thing.
This kills me. I had hoped for a fully realized Geigha bot. Nothing sexy, just that very cool GitS look in dynamic poses. These things look like RemPres RiotGrrls to me. And they dont fit the look of the mix of ancient japan and clandestine operatives. It's just such a huge contrast from the rest of the faction it's almost disrespectful. It's not too late to petition or poll CB, they couldnt have sent these things to mass production yet right. @psychoticstorm @Koni It's not that these are bad designs, it's just they dont look like JSA at all, if you guys can talk to production. I'm pretty sure players would be willing to wait an extra 6 months or so.
Resilience was intrinsic to their design, so I guess this comes down to things other than armor. Redundancy in their vital systems, heat resistant alloys etc. STR 3 and Total Immunity is still somewhat of a leap, I agree. ARM 3 on the other hand is not that crazy, just look at Grunts as an example. They wear helmets, flak vests and elbow guards for the same effect while Karakuri are largely made out of metal. @wuji: I agree with your assessment, but I doubt this is going to lead anywhere. The design is received rather well by a lot of people.
Design received well vs preferred? If everyone prefers the other look? Do players have to sculpt their own bootlegs...
They still have the hidden weapons; the Karakuri ALWAYS held a primary weapon like normal; it's the Flash Pulse/Panzerfaust/Chain Rifle that are integrated into the main body, and that hasn't changed if you look closely at the concept art.
Except for the head with the screen and the Lolitaponytails this looks great. The Kawaii, Lolita, tsundere part, I dislike from the bottom of my heart. I would've preferred a design similar to the old creep, dolls for the heads. I really liked these facemasks.... Will have to change to heads or keep the old ones.
The great thing is if you like the old ones, you can still use them. Its also not like Kawaii is a new thing. Fast Pandas were always adorable.
