    Hi,

I just started playing Infinity a couple of months ago in a slow grow league. I am playing as Aleph. I started looking around at the other factions to see what may be an interesting second faction.

When I saw Tohaa I really like they way they look, but I discovered that many of the models are discontinued.

So is it possible to get models to play decent lists? Is it worth the effort at this point to do so?

    Thanks!

Tohaa are worth it, but you will struggle to find certain models. If your local stores still have them on the shelves snap them up. Another option to consider is just starting with Spiral Corps which are still available and then slow grow Tohaa as you find them.

The most difficult models to find now would be the Makaul box (4 melee specialists with Eclipse smoke) and the Gorgos (now better than in N3, but still unable to be repaired...), the rest of the models are either on Spiral, or easy to proxy.

Tohaa is, essentially, in nearly the same spot it was in N3, because there were little changes to profiles (like all Wave 2 profiles), most of the buff/debuff comes from global rules changes, which include the limitation of the "swarm mode" (up to 20 models... plus periferals and all that).

As for the worthyness of it... At this moment, CB is in a "roller coaster mode". Changes are being made when they feel like it, with no warning in the Army (despite promises on the contrary) and the rulebook was published with holes and requiring a FAQ that seems to be taken its sweet time so the printed books are not outdated from the get-go.

So, if you crave the models, get them. There is always time to use them as something else or for other, model-agnostic games.

As a new player, your best bet is definitely to go for Spiral Corps. You'll get the Tohaa experience, with up to date, and in-production minis. Tohaa have left the Human Sphere due to the Spiral Corps disabling the gate back to the Tohaa home system. You'll get to play with some of the coolest minis in the army, and not have to worry about the OOP ones.

Most Spiral Corps boxes can be found on the cheap, unless that changed recently. As others have said, slow grow into vanilla with the Spiral Corps offerings unless you're on a budget then focus on the Vanilla units you like and can find. If you can't find Makauls, lemme know. Where you based?

    Thanks for the responses.
I bought Spiral Corps box and some more.

Since I'm so new to everything any suggestions for list building, general Tohaa tactics?

I know a store that should still have most Tohaa in stock in germany :)
For advice I would suggest checking out the two sticky threads:
    https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/tohaa-trident-operations-manual.34134/

they are not updated to N4 I think but there aren't many changes for Tohaa so they still should be decent.
Generally Sakiels, Makauls and Sukeuls are the backbone of many lists. Clipsos are awesome.
Gao-Rael and Nikoul are the MSV pieces needed against smoke tricks
Chacksa Auxiliar are the cheap orders that can protect your deployment zone decently well

Yeah, these are the staples for sure. Most of those pad out triads for either a dedicated gunslinger or objective grabber.

Neema loves having a Makaul and some kind of an accountabilabuddy.

Some of the Spiral additions are great fire team addons. Draals are solid and Kriigel with Pheroware are good despite not having the Spiral exclusive profiles (same with Taagma).

Now that they are no longer susceptible to Fire, some of the more expensive pieces like the Gorgos are pretty jam up.

My favorites for a "Triad-less" and heavy Exalted group are the Kerails, Nikoul, Kotail, and Rasail Boarding Team. Sprinkle in Chaksas, Reex, and Longarms to taste.

Funny thing is this faction has a bit of everything. A little light in the SK department, but they have awesome HI and LI. MI are pretty unique, and the exalted units are great at filling out a roster.

I am in New York city.
I found the vanilla get started box, and a box of Makauls, also bought a used lot.

    4 Makauls
    7 Kamael
    Ectros
    2 Sakiel
    2 Clipsos
    2 Gao Rael

So guess I need the Gao Tarsos, Sukiels maybe the Gargos.

What should I hunt down next?

These gals are really hard to find...But they are ROCK STARS in Tohaa army and worth every penny spent on them.As I started collecting Tohaa 2 weeks before N4 I can confirm they are most difficult to find.I even thought that they were exclusives models.

I just use the old Tohaa spec ops as the Sukuels. I chopped up an old ectros hmg for the hmg profile. I am still trying to figure out what I should use to kit bash a missile launcher.
