Shoot twice with Fireteams and you'll have better than a re-roll ;)

But yeah, it's not very certain.

? No you only ever get one PH roll. You can hit twice but only get to roll once on the PH.

    Nope, one per hit, and successful PH roll cancels all failed ones;

If, due a Special Skill or rule, a Trooper receives more than one successful hit or use of MediKit during the same Order, if any of the corresponding PH Rolls is successful, the Trooper automatically cancel Unconscious State. Even if the Trooper passes every PH Roll, they will only recover a single point of their Wounds Attribute.

One thing to consider is that the medikits receive linkteam bonuses (as far as I understand), and that according to the medikit rules any success revives the trooper, even if you roll a failure along with your success. This means that if linked your paramedic rolling to hit on 19s will have a better chance of reviving the HI trooper even than a doctor consuming a command token to re-roll.

I think that WB may be one of those sectorials that isn’t really your main faction, but that lets you start from a Vanilla mindset and then switch over to the sectorial if you want X strategy + fireteams.

For example, this is kind of a meme list, but it really only works at all in WB:

    gM0AC1RyaXBsZSBUQUdzgSwBAQoBhdcBAQAChdcBAQADgIUBAgAEgI4BAQAFgI4BAQAGfAEBAAd8AQEACHwBCAAJfAEGAAqAogEEAA==

You get 14 orders to move up a duo of Blue Wolves and super-jump the Guijia into a good firing position, and then back them into cover. The remotes provide a bit of repeater/flash pulse cover and the core linked hacker helps with hacking AROs, so if you can back the Blue Wolves into ZoC of a Chaiyi you’ve got them somewhat protected by a core-linked hacker and their own guns in reactive. Breaking their Duo and coordinating then into suppressive ought to result in a difficult-to-dislodge midfield presence. All three TAGs are toting specialists for objectives. If you’re going up against a heavy hacking faction, it’s possible to drop both Chaiyi and downgrade the Zhanshi FO to a regular combi and add an EVO rem. You lose an order but it gives your TAGs Fairy Dust.

This list is obviously weak to a lot, and if things go wrong it’s likely to crumple fast, but for a casual game where you know your opponent’s faction and the table in advance, it could be fun. Also, even if your opponent hits your backline hard, the TAGs alone provide 7 orders a turn.

Same here. At the moment I take Lei Gong or Adil in the fire team and use Dao Fei (´s), Rui Shi or Guijia as main attack piece, supported by Guilang and Shaolin. The alternate core is too expensive and will lead to a LI list, and this, I could do better with IA. Speaking of IA we have two simlar ways for fireteams, the Zhanshi core and the Zuyong/Shang Ji core. The main difference is, that WBs version is more restricted. I still think, that the Jujak should be Wildcard instead of the Shang Ji.

The Ye Mao haris is interesting - even without the tinbot Shang Ji. But the lack of 6th sense makes it vulnarable in the defensive.

Another problem with WB is the lack of miniatures. I am not a fan of much proxing. Without counting the limited one, there is only a single Ye Mao, a lone Jujak, only one new and shiny Shang and no Tian Guo at all. Not even previewed.

Games with WB feel a bit Vanilla for me, because I tend to use single units, backed up by a core, that mostly sits in the back in the first round. But it is still fun to play the camo game.

Looks funny for one or two games, but I will never buy two Blue Wolves. Though run two TAGs is a possibility.
Bear in mind, that the Panguiling FTO is no where stated as an wildcard or even linkable.

Shoot, forgot that bit. *glares accusingly at AVA4 zhanshi*

I like WB well enough, but the fireteam side of it has some real annoyances. Having an FTO profile that isn’t linkable is one, and the misalignment of linkability options that make superjumping links inflexible is the other that tops my list. Give me Liang Kai in a Guijia or Ye Mao link! Let me stick Jing Qo to the back of a Blue Wolf!

Also, giving White Banner a sectorial-only Guijia with Veteran would be funsies, and might bump Shang-Jisus down half a notch.

I like it too :+1:but it feels a bit uncomfortable in the fireteam section. The FTO Pangu could be mainly a copy paste error. Liang as an wildcard would be quite nice. Cheap provider of DTW and CC threads.Jing would also be a nice wildcard on midrange firefight and let loose of the link to go CC hunting.

Qiang Gao on the other hand can go back home to IA. I see no use for him in WB. If I want a linkable HI with HMG I take the Shang. Even with an available NCO he is simply to expensive to fuel that. The only way to use his two lt.orders is to break the link, take to actions with him and form the link again.

€dith: Added a Jing comment and get the Q-names right

Jing Qo, not Qiang Gao ;)

Speaking of which, has anybody given her a try? She's kinda pricy, but she does pretty much everything except shoot above 16". It's unfortunate her linkability is so bad, but dragging along a Shang Ji might make for a decent duo. Have her tag along with Shang Jesus and she can complete objectives and deal with threats he can't reach.

She costs 36 points and has crap fireteam options, that's why.

It's an absolute shame Liang Kai can't even duo with monks. No smoke available to him is simply unforgiveable.
He'd also pair pretty well with Ye Mao, now that I think of it.

Man, WB fireteam are such a conceptual abortion.

She's also not shock immune, for some reason.

What's more of a shame is that Liang Kai can be in a core fireteam in White Company for some reason. I guess the merc part of him takes precedence over being a Shaolin. :frowning:

Obviously, he has an actually good CC weapon and above MA3, he can't possibly be a Yu Jing unit.

Taking a simple Zhanshi ML in a link backed up with a Hundun could be fun as an easy defensive option. Slightly worse than the PanO equivalents, but with a good YJ midfield it would be harder to avoid. Plus, you can have a Tinbot B and some Hackers in the link for Hacking security too, and they won't care if the ML bites it because they'll keep Sixth Sense.

I don't think I'd want to link Jing Qo even if I had the option. Climbing Plus lets you get some nice angles on unsuspecting enemy troopers, and dragging about an anchor seems counterproductive.

I think I would. She has great BS with multi rifle, but the main thing for me is having extra guys to give her a boost in CC. A single Shaolin doesn't help much. At least a haris would be nice! Oh well.

I've run Jing Qo in most of my White Banner games, starting in N3. I like her unit archetype a lot, as well as her fluff and historical influence. I've run her basically every time with a Shaolin for smokes on the approach. Treating him like a throwaway/peripheral and not hesitating to sacrifice him for JQ has kept her relatively safe. I'm also accustomed to using Ninjas and Oniwaban in JSA, so I'm not too bothered by expensive, close-range units without shock immunity.

I'd call her a solid B+ tier unit. Her lack of range is covered a lot with C+ and smoke access. Being a killy specialist toolbox means I'll almost always have something for her to contribute to, and Multi weapons are in right now. AP+DA CCW with her proficiency means she can legitimately threaten almost anything in CC, especially if the monk also dogpiles in. Making use of the new Dodge in active to get closer from smoke/total cover is great with her, given her Dodge on PH 16 and +1" dodge distance. Solid gunfighter as well, and whatever has heavy vismods, she can template and/or CC.

She's squishy, obviously, and mines are not worth the risk even with high dodge, which is why I run my shaolin into them when necessary. She'd be ok in suppression in the midfield, but usually I prefer to keep her safe and threaten something in active since her kill potential is so high (and she's expensive). I have Long Ya for that kind of duty anyway, but it's still nice to have as an option if the situation demands it.

On that note, I was really afraid of her being sniped by some regular sniper or smg shock burst and being snuffed out immediately, but White Banner has pretty solid defense with its mix of mines, deployable repeaters, camo game (especially Long Ya), and the ever-present threat of the Hundun - so I've yet to experience JQ being sniped out in turn 1. Impersonators usually go for something else since she's a badass in CC. I'm also very careful about facing shock with her, for obvious reasons. Again, useful habits from running units like Shinobu and Yojimbo.

I find her really fun. CC specialist with AP+DA, high BS+mimetism, multi weapon, template, and BTS pistol means she's carrying a swiss army knife of fatal weapons for a vast array of unit types. I treat her like an Assassin-Specialist that fills in for whatever I need done most, and she's performed well basically every time.

Something that occurred to me about Jing Qo in a Duo is that it might be fun to have her attached to a solo Shanger specifically for the order efficiency getting them into the midfield. That sounded meh in my head originally, but since her climb+ means she can Spiderman her way along the side of a building using the same move-move as her companion on the ground, it potentially opens up some shenanigans where some poor sucker around a corner has to decide which one of the duo to deal with when she comes down a wall behind him while the HI murder machine is coming around the corner in front of him.
