    Hello,
I've recently been playing around with some different ideas for Dahshat and came up with this midfield control list for missions that require a strong midfield presence.

The idea is to put a lot of camo markers in the midfield representing the various units (5). The list has a number of specialists (7) and it has the SMG bashi parachuting in. My plan is to play the other ap rife bashi as if it were a Brawler MSV2 sniper with accompanying haris group. Maybe suprise an opponent and hold down a fire lane for a bit until the ruse is discovered. Finally I have the Ghulam link with Valeria to move in under smoke cover from the Fasid to complete objective. My hope is to have a list that will keep the opponent guessing with a lot of options to punish them for wrong moves.
I know that the Lieutenant is the missile launcher and that is kind of weird, but it is a real defensive ARO piece and I don't expect it to be doing to much work, just as a deterrent to opposing units, he should be prone most of the game until the link has to move for objective grabbing.

what are your lists that are suited for midfield control? Im going to try this out on my next game and Il report back on what I think.

I believe that, when deploying the Holo2 user in the DZ, you still have to tell the opponent that one of those three models is a Holoecho owner, if my memory serves.

I would also move some of the Irregulars from Group 1 to Group 2 cause that's a lot of order-hungry irregs. I always expect my order generators to die sooner or later, and both the TR bot and the flash bot are pretty easy to pop if you got some camo. Maybe the Fasid is better in this regard, I heard people praising his HMG+LGL loadout as being all-around versatile.

I'm actually trying out some midfield-control lists myself in the light of the upcoming battle against a Caledonian player tomorrow (Quadrant Control). I really struggle to come up with a list that could reliably discover all the potential camo markers while also being difficult to dislodge. One way or another, but I feel like a Hulang would be a good DataTracker for these types of missions. He is pretty resilient, especially in Suppressive Fire, he's got mimetism, he slices people real good (a dubious advantage when facing against berserk-filled Caledonia). And yeah, some of them do include an Al-Fasid and a Bashi too. But fielding these big boys doesn't allow me to build a resilient or especially punchy link team (Lucien or Red Fury ABH is the most fearsome link in such a list I could come up with).

So maybe it makes sense to try out a couple of Zhenchas. They combine good armor, good BS, NWI, and camouflage all in one package. And they also cost 34-41 pts, so they can score their zones all right.

Only if you are combining level 1 & 2 together. So to disguise as 3 Ghulam. When it's your turn I believe you have to put a marker next to one of them. If the bashi is just "next to" the actual link team, the opponent might assume he is part of it. But really, you should be telling him who is a part of the link team and saying the Brawler sniper is not, might be a giveaway.

i'm still struggling with this. I think it is a neat trick, and can provide some interesting options, It might be better to just have it as Holoprojector L1 and be a solo Zuyong Missile launcher or something. Lots of options. I thought of this idea as a way to create uncertainty for the opponent. I will see how it plays out in practice.

Something to note too trying to do the Holo1 with a Bashi. Making a Irregular troop look like a Regular one can be a bit tricky. But it takes a pretty good player to notice something like that. Other Holo1 troops tend to already be regular so they don’t have as much of a problem. So I’ve seen some try to hide as a Warcor to mixed success. But that’s about it in Dahshat.
