So looking to branch into tunguska. What are your tips for fire team composition. Coming from cheap nca link teams struggling to build fire teams do you mix securitate and grenzers? Do you use pure secruitate or pure grenzer? Do you mix? Whats your favourite hollow man links? Do people make use of perseus and rauol links ? What are ppl doing for feuerbach securitates, proxies or conversions? Hpw are people filling out grenzer links proxies conversions? All general discussion on tunguska fire teams welcomeq

Holowmen are the standout Fireteam in Tunguska. 4 x Holowmen + Stempler is almost always the way to build it. 2 x SWC weapons (either ML + Spit or 2 X ML), Tinbot, Specialist, Stempler.

Securitate don't need a Grenzer to work. However 1 x ML or MSR Grenzer adds a lot of defensive power to the link and 1 x Spitfire Grenzer adds offensive punch (however, Grenzers are overpriced and probably the worst MI in the game so more than 1 or 2 in a link is usually a poor idea). Perseus is also a good addition if you want a Fireteam that can advance up the board in late game. There's a lot of flexibility in there and you can tailor it however you want. It's almost always worth getting a B4 gun because it opens up late game options relatively cheaply.

    Tunguska only has expensive Haris'.

    * The Grenzer Haris is mostly disliked, but does give you a reasonable blunt force option vs Varuna or ASA. Although a MML2 Tsyklon supported be an Interventor and Clockmaker is almost as good.
    * The Woody Harrelson Haris (Percy, Raoul and Stempler C+) is kinda purpose built for Looting and Sabotaging but otherwise doesn't seem to be popular.

This means that Puppets provide the most common 'Haris' used in Tunguska. Really great option in LI (where they add disposable bodies) or in lists with a small second order pool (11-13 order lists are quite viable with a Puppet troup in the first CG).

This leads to two really broad 'effective' archetypes:

Hollowman Core + support (with or without Puppets).
Defensive Securitate link supporting solo pieces (with or without Puppets).

Unlike Bakunin you can't justify playing without a core because the AVA gain / Haris options aren't good enough. So if you don't like the cores, I'd recommend vanilla which is almost certainly the strongest Nomad sectorial right now.

Yeh been theory listing a lot and seemed to find the hollow man team seemed to stand out as no brainer in comparrison. What puppet team do you find most useful supporting ? Do you find the zaudinautica viable along with these or kriza/ szalamandrza?

My preferred Puppet set up is:
    AP MMR
    BSG FO
    BSG FO
    Minelayer Puppetmaster

Mainly that's because I'm using the SWC elsewhere, if you have the SWC for it then swapping out the MMR for a Red Fury is a decent option.

In a Hollowman core list I've seen them used effectively to add ARO density to screen the Hollowmen and as early game button pushers where their speed and durability is huge. 3 x BSGs can work for this, although it's less effective vs Dogs.

Kriza is, I think, almost a must take with a defensive Securitate core as it provides the direct punch Tunguska often requires. It pairs well with the Zondnautica or Puppetmaster as it forces most opponents to be circumspect with their AROs, giving you a lot of freedom of movement in your half of the board.

I'm not a huge fan of the Salzy. In Nomads you want the TAG to support the rest of the list more than you want to build lists that support the TAG: this is because with Nomad TAGs it's much harder keeping them up over a game once they start taking damage. It's really difficult doing this is Tunguska because of the average cost / order is relatively high. As a gunfighter it faces the Kriza as competition, so if you do take it you really need to be leveraging it's mobility, ARM/BTS and specialist to make it worthwhile.

I'm seriously considering proxying all my Tunguska as ASA because I MUCH prefer how ASA list builds.

Tunguska is growing on me, but with only two real list archetypes that I find appealing it doesn't feel deep enough to commit to. I want to like Grenzers, but they're just too difficult to support.

Compare CJC where there's 3 new archetypes that I'm playing around with on top of a lot of the older options:
Tsyklon + Algs core (Clockmaker primary Healer)
MB + Algs Core (Daktari primary Healer)
    Jag Core + Jag Haris

I'd play this as a Salzy list:

Im coming from nca and just trying to get a bolt fire team to work so thinking if i can crack bolts the grenzers / secruitates though different have some similarities down to point costs etc. Tubguska seem to have a few areas of crossover with some key differences which make them less straight forward than what im used to. Also need to up my hacking game as that is something i pretty much ignore outside a bit of support ware and a killer hacker / deva with lightening haha

Nah, Bolts are in a *really* good position right now.

    Have you considered trying FoCo?

Bolts Haris + Securitate Core + Kriza is a very fun build.

What I like about Tunguska, is that everything is so efficient, you can do so many different things in your lists.

Ive been experimenting with the triple harris list a lot lately. The Grenzer and perseus count at securitates, so you run a core link with just the two of them and a repeater securitate. This gives you a Tunguska version of the Kusanagi Holy Trinity. Usually the grenzer does all the shooting with good range band and msv1, but against enemy MSV targets you can cast white noise through the repeater securitate in front of Perseus, who can leverage his ODD and his breaker combi to take them out from close enough range. Defensive ML harris of hollowmen hold the fort and deal with long range threats while puppets act as backup pushers and hold the midfield.

I also use the szally a lot, but my list ended up being almost the same as inane's list so i didnt bother posting it again.

I like TJC a lot and they are really interesting list building challenges.

Yeh i like the look of those and foreign company will likely be something i move into too given it will be an easy transition.

I like the look of that hollowman 5 man link .
It will all become clearer once i start getting them on the table and i see it all working haha

One important note about the HM core: don't hesitate to break it!
The ML is an ARO piece, and you may want to have him alone.
Deploying a core is hard especially with the Stempler.

So don't get pinned down because you want to enjoy the full benefit of +3BS and SSL2 or even +1B

With the puppets I tend to make the team like this.

Like @inane.imp said the SWC for the Red Fury is usually spent elsewhere and it's benefit is solely Burst 5. I run two of the AP MMR bots because I feel they are the most flexible weapon in the unit, and one can take over for the other if the first is battle ravaged. Keeping that B4 BS 13 Ap+Shock is important to me in the Puppetactica.

My Securitate cores look like this frequently. I rarely write a list without the BSG in the core if I take it, I find it very useful most times. I may switch up the Securitate HMG for the Grenzer Spit, or the grenz ML for the Sec Feuerbach.

    [IMG]5
GRENZER Spitfire / Pistol, Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 30)

    SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13)

With the Hollow core, I always take a Stempler. I want to fit in a MR+pitcher on top of a Spit and ML if I can.

I prefer Perseus and Raoul as individual units.

I run Perseus as often as I can. He does a lot of work for me, even more than the Kriza.

Raoul can potentially straight up win a match for you with AD. It's more of a mixed bag with him than Perseus when it comes to what he can accomplish, but he's fantastic at attacking too many targets not to love him.

I will usually go for this Core because it's relatively cheap, the repeaters let me leverage the AHD/KHD on Mary Problems, plus the double ML with BS13 and MSV1 that let's you ignore mimetism & camo.

I often run it with a Puppetactica haris, smth like @jfunkd described above, maybe with 2 FO instead of 2 AP. And a Kriza duo with a tinbot Hollowman, the deflector is really useful for protection against hackers

What will the repeaters do for you? the link is hyper defensive and unlikely to receive any order the whole game to move forward the repeaters

Also if you're running the repeaters why not the BSG's for close up defense? At least then there may be a point to the second otherwise it's kinda superfluous.

On the double Grenzer, given the amount of MSV hatred running around these days it may be worth the secondary ARO shooter being a non MSV model like the feuerbach Securitate.

This also allows you to White Noise through the Repeater vs MSV targets. I'd run that like this:

These repeaters helped me fry an Ikari ninja hacker with Mary's Lightning. But that just happened once. I would normally use them for White noise or Icebreaker for offense.

@inane.imp I've only played with one friend so far, his lists usually include a TAG, hence the double missile. He often runs either Scarface or Dragoes. But I like your link more! Thanks for the tip, will try running it next time.

I'm just a beginner, so I really appreciate your opinion, thanks guys!

Why no love for the securitate HMG? Saves 9 points and 0.5swc over the grenzer spitfire, has higher damage and better range

It’s less that there’s no love, just that “1 B4 Gun, 1-2 Specialists, 1 ARO piece, filler” is just such a classic way to build a Fireteam that nobody felt the need to mention it in detail. It’s a fair point though, and it’s really a question of what you need: it’s a great ‘through White Noise’ gun paired with a Sec Repeater.
