    Hey all.

I'm running Dashat for Asteroid Blues and frankly loving them.

I have come across a few things that I thought were worth discussion, especially as this part of the forum is a little quiet:

    1) Dashat fluff is bad ass. In true CB style they are based on real life history and in all likely-hood Zumurroda is based on the David Wong book Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits.

    2) Dashat have some less than impressive profiles that can fire-team up to become something bigger than their components.

    3) With Hunzkanuts, pitchers, Zencha and remotes Dashat can set up an amazing hacking network, but dont really have access the the best hackers.

4)McMurrough is utterly lethal with Dashat. Him plus two profiles with MSV that can link put him on another level.

    5) Dashat has some cheap, utterly lethal and very useful skirmishers. Unfortunately most of them are irregular. They also have them in force with lots of options being 0-2 (Kum are 1-4!). Im stil;l trying to balance the irregular order pile!

    6) SMG Authorized Bounty Hunters are amazing but I feel a little under priced.

    5) Ghulam and Brawlers are brilliant but overshadowed by those bounty hunters.

    6) Being a mix of factions Dashat have been the most expensive faction so far for me money wise. Having to buy lots of boxes of miniatures just to use 1 of them has been painful. I accidentally bought 300pts of Invincible Army!

It's interesting you say that Bounty Hunters overshadow Ghulam and Brawlers. I agree that the basic rifle + light shotgun Brawler loses out in a direct comparison to the ABH SMG, but when I'm composing Ghulam fireteams I reach for the FO more often than not.

My typical cores usually look something like:

    Ghulam Sniper
    Doctor+
    FO
    FO
    Lieutenant

And I'll throw in an HMG from time to time if I want the team to have an offensive role. But the filler almost always goes to forward observers by default - the combination of weapons with the ability to push buttons is very hard to beat.

ABH SMGs do find their way into every Zuyong or Brawler team though (since AVA4 makes it basically mandatory). But I wouldn't sleep on Ghulam and their very versatile options even if it means paying a bit extra over ABHs.

I don't think i've used Brawlers at all yet in Dahshat. They are only ok when you can take Ghulam or Zyuong and either of them backed up by ABH and other wildcards. Plus to make them a 5-man you must take a wildcard. Of course it’s the same for Zuyong but it only makes them a bit better.

I used a Brawler: Haris/Brawler Sniper/ABH Sniper team two weeks ago and it was pretty solid.

Really expensive and although maxed at long range its pretty meh at short. Was good defensively but a lot of points to just sit back.

Well anytine I run a starco list i just think... i could run dashat with waaayyy more orders smoke tricks, total immunity mcmurder, easy redundant link teams and tac aware, strong midfield and maybe not the best hacking in the game but linked pitcher hackers can set up so well against my mixed link meta.

The thing with Dhashat is I feel I have all the tools in my belt. My specialist list has mcmurrough and a Haris hmg zhuyong, backed up by a core with two snipers.

I have plenty of orders in both groups (like 18-19) to fuel anything or to absorb losses.

And we can Yolo with the rui shi or core him to absurd levels.

I keep finding trouble with too many Irregular orders. If I take too many, I find myself using all of my command tokens just to make a few Regular. But the ones that get things done tend to be Irregular. McMurough, and Hunzi being the main ones. But then if i start adding Bashi and Liberto it starts to be a problem for me. MM and Hunzi I can depend on doing something most of the time with their order.

The bashi uses its own irregular, so no big deal here.

The liberto, I often reposition him a little. I tend to use them just as aro pieces but they can Rambo too. Their favorite prey are HMG TR.

True. The bashi uses his own to come onto the board, but after that, it can be a problem. I've found myself bring him on and not having orders to do much with him.

Is this really a problem for a 12 point thorn in your opponent's side? If they choose not to deal with it, you have plenty of options to make them suffer. If they do deal with it, now their sorta wasting orders. If it comes down in a spot that forces a reaction, so much the better.

True but you make another point. He doesn't "come down". I hate needing to pick a quarter to come on at deployment. Also, frcing a reaction doesn't mean anything bad to enemy when he comes on. AROs cost nothing. Now after and he can use use holos. That's different.

You force a reaction by being in the vicinity, not by walking out in front of something. Anyways; if you don't like picking a quadrant and feel it doesn't suit your strategy, then it sounds like you'll want something else regardless.

EDIT (Just to clarify): If you're opponent doesn't seek and destroy the Bashi who safely entered their quadrant, you can then punish at an opportune moment with as few AROs as possible. If they do seek and destroy, your Bashi stands a decent chance of surviving and that doesn't even really matter because they're wasting points to seek out a 12 point irregular when you have much more important threats available in your list like MM, Rui Shi, etc.

No actually love them. I just need to not go overboard on Irregular. I'm trying to find a good balance. I found going second helps a bit because i'm not stripped of two orders if going first.

My mate pointed out a great use for 12 point Bash: start game on the board Holo into 3 Ghulam and hide the LT.

Sforza can also pretend to be a SMG/BS Bashi if deployed with the rest. If a richer man I would buy multiple Bash and Sforza miniatures!

Combining Holo 1&2 can be a pain but It’s really only good if going 2nd. As soon as it’s your turn you need to put down a token to indicate there’s some holo things going on. And as soon as is so much as twitches it reveals itself. Thankfull still with echoes. Just doing Holo 1 though is pretty good too. 12pt bashi disquised as a Zuyong lt. or Ghulam can be useful for Impersonators. One thing great about Sforza is he is regular. I good oponent might be able to tell there’s a holo 1 guy based on your orders.
