    Just pointing out the irony that the only model with native stealth in o-12 is a deployment zone camping hacker – and not something like the CC warband or a highly trained Heavy Infantry.

    While it isn't useless on the cyberghost, just corner-case.

    Anyone else been using the Zeta unit? I have been playing the Operation Wildfire models + Zeta, proxying Hipolyta as a verangian to try and play with as few proxies as possible.

    The Heavy Riotstopper has been hilarious. HRMC does what it do. Climbing plus seems super strong with the combo of weapons. Normally the tables I play on can funnel a tag into very dicey positions. With a gun with amazing range and climbing plus, being able to deny easy access to enemy cc, hackers, and so on, while raining bullets from afar has been amazing.

    It's also gratifying to glue a piece, walk away from it, then throw your 5th die at it while still having 4 for your main target.

    I've only played a handful of missions so far, but as a guy who loves Tags, the Zeta has won me over.

    Verangians have been great for Defending said Tag at the start of the game. Enemy impersonators don't want to tangle with them, and if they do reveal the guard can just throw smoke on the tag, allowing it to walk away.

    I've used it twice, both times in Limited Insertions lists. I like him. Not crazy expensive, and has decent support in the army.

    Climbing plus is a huge boon for this guy. Being able to escape really easily over all terrain is a huge help for a TAG. It also makes it hard for your opponent to plan for a B5 gun that can see pretty much whatever it wants with relative ease. So many opponents think that laying a trooper prone behind a wall or left chilling behind a building is safe. Not with the Zeta around.

    This is actually a pretty important thing to remember. often times it feels like I'll be taking opponents' troopers out of combat only for them to still generate an order for the next two turns. Always remember to shoot what you glue!

    I find O-12 to be really resistant to impersonators in general. there just isn't a whole lot that they really want to fight. No link teams to blow apart, LTs that are tough, and just DTW and mad traps littered everywhere. There are a handful of units to protect but having a Varangian or mantrap close by can do the trick. It's also worth it to note that the Sirius bot is a great way to cover the Zeta. Heavy riot stopper for anyone who comes into visibility and a repeater to counter-hack. what more could you want.

    As someone who's been out of the game for a while but has recently returned and will be getting wildfire shortly the 0-12 look really appealing to me especially the betatroopers with their 6-2 movement, climbing plus and mimetism (seriously that specialist operative profile is a fucking steal!)

    I ran this list last night to test out midfield defense for decapitation vs Spiral.
    MVP was the SiriusBots, but the Gangbusters was no joke.
    Not sure how I feel about the Gamma still.
    I want to dislike the Alpha as it represents everything I hate in a unit.

    Care to elaborate? Do you feel as though it is "too optimized"?

    It's funny, my friend feels this way and is always quick to voice his opinion. I have to remind him that the Shukra has already been doing this for months.

    Zeta is one of the big winners from this update. The mid-price TAGs imo benefit the most. It's so easy to actually fit 14-15 orders in with the Zeta and an extra on top of that. I like the list btw.

    It's nice to see both of you taking the Monstrucker, I do aswell – IMO he's just a way better value than the lambda.

    In other news: another upvote for the Monstrucker. Using his irregular order and two YudBots to clear midfield mines, drop bears or telling another story of one of his roadtrips "for free" is worth more than +3 pts.

    I have yet to experiment – but to be honest, I'm not sure if O-12 is the place for him.

    I love his profile and his model and I'm a huge fan of cowboys. He's great when he can insert himself in a link team and gets to move up "for free", supporting an HMG and then busting out those sweet B4 multi pistols hitting on 19s is great! But when you have to spend orders on an individual pistoleer who starts in your deployment zone you can't help but think theres a better use of the orders and points.

    Let's look at what role he plays and what he's competing with. IMHO I can see him being a decent counter-attack piece or a beta attacker. Wild bill is all about timing, he wants the enemy to spend a couple orders only to get stuck in the mid board, or enemy infiltrators to reveal themselves and sit on or near an objective. Then he can move up and pick them apart. ideally. For this role or this type of role we have a number of pieces natively – the SMR epsilon, SMR Lynx, Plasma Lynx, Team Sirius, and even the combi gangbuster to an extent. It's hard to justify his mid 20s points cost when we have so many other SWC free or SWC-lite pieces at that points range that perform the same or similar role. Really the only thing he has over these other guys is resilience – NWI and hyper dynamics can be annoying to deal with.

    I don't think he's useless, hardly anything is, just doesn't really fit into lists naturally. You'll probably have to go out of your way to use him.

    Looks like:

    Gangbuster + Sirius unit clog up the midfield to deter your opponent from making attack runs and hold lanes open for the Zeta to advance.

    Kytta, and Dakini provide long range AROs, to help cut down fire lanes and penalize impetuous units.

    Epsilon and Varangian use the good old smoke trick to help clear anything the TAG would have trouble with.

    The rest is orders, smoke and specialists.

    He should be able to shoot down the pilot of any TAG and climb into it while yelling "BROTHER! Look as I surpass my own origin!"

    You also get a bonus shot when he's killed if you say "Fox.......die....?"

    Played in a tournenment with spec opts this weekend and finished 3rd with 2 draws and a Major.

    My other list was designed for Countermeasures, having played the mission 6 times now with 0-12 I am finding that I auto include 2 Gangbuster KHD, and I almost always run the AHD team Sirius as I gain a hacking net that most people dont want to mess with and can force a lot of wasted orders on expensive rambo peices. After being uncertain about the Alpha, I am not sure you want to take anything else as being able to hold back 2 models is a huge adavantage, and with the amout of TO avaliable to O-12 may opponets don't know that I am going to drop a Gamma and a Zeta on them.

    Ends up being pretty much the bed rock of every single one of my lists. every so often the Kappa will become a Cyberghost and the Combi Gangbusters the KHD versions. I also generally find myself taking the Dakini HMG a lot more than a TR bot – he has a lot more flexibility in the active turn and can also be more troublesome in ARO with some set-up. Big sleeper hit imho.

    Honestly, I've been having trouble fitting the Omega in my lists. I find the Beta to be a lot more applicable and offers a different rangeband that so much of the other army doesn't already cover. In my lists the epsilon HMG ends up being a staple so it's a little harder to justify another negative mod HMG shooter.

    @MikeTheScrivener what is your go to Lt? I agree the beta trooper spitfire is a great peice and beats out the Omega in most of my lists aswell. How are you using your Gangbusters are they an active unit or something that just sits there?

    Surpisingly the Gamma has pulled it weight in the games that I have tried it in, but in general I feel it is to expensive for what it does. I have not used the razor as the gangbuster does pretty much everything it does but cheaper. I have found the Lynx MSR, with the two gangbusters, and team sirus AHD to be invaulable going second to stop rambo peices like Achillies.
