To those that are not up to date N4 is coming and is scheduled for Summer of 2020. This tread is created to discuss O-12 in the upcoming edition I understand that O-12 is really new and not much experience has been formulated yet but for completeness shake and for the service of the future this thread is created now and not a few months in the future so, Suggestions, ideas, wishlist's, opinions, things that work, things that do not work all are welcome if done in a polite manner. Now the most basic rule of the thread, be polite this is not a thread to be dissolved in arguing who has the correct ideas and who has not, all ideas are welcome and all comments and criticism is appreciated, as long as the tone is polite. For a more generic discussion of the upcoming N4 please use this thread Thanks.
After so many years of problems building up I just hope that Corvus Belli finally give O-12 the love and attention it needs!
I think early to judge anything for 012 and a new version. I do think we wont get a sectorial until after n4 launch.
I would expect an O-12 sectorial alongside the N4 launch, if not slightly before or after. It's that or they dont get one until Human Sphere N4 (assuming that editions will follow the same Core Book NX -> Human Sphere NX -> Campaign Book NX format).
I can only imagine they were designing 012 with potential N4 changes in mind, but it's still good to have this post available to scoop up anything folks learn while playing over the next 6 months or so.
My wish list for units: MORE TAGS!!!! preferably what some people call scout TAGs. I also want some HI characters and some non HI gunfighters. Some more plasma would be good, especially on heavy infantry. Possibly add some unique combat capable remotes. What current O-12 tells me about next addition through wild speculations: less assault hackers (O-12 only has 2), more short range weapons on specialists, they do not know what to do with medium infantry (O-12 got 2 but they fall into the strong typing sections of MI, that being MSV 2 with mimitism or better and drop troopers).
I vote for more aleph units and new remotes, not the generic ones. But thus I really like to see bureau Toth as a O-12 / Aleph cross-sectorial.
I have played 4 games with O-12 so far. While Gangbusters and Sirius give a good board control I feel we are lacking cost efficient long range ARO pieces (only Lynx MSR and Feuerbach Gamma are expensive for an ARO piece).
Maybe it is but I think the rules are gonna change a fair amount so even if costed and organized to make n4 work it will shift a fair amount
I would love to see a prototype TAG that uses all the wierdo tech Humans are trying to backwards engineer from Alien tech. Something like a plasma DTW (A gun that was trying to be a plasma rifle but ends up violently spraying plasma everywhere so they have to strap it onto an armoured hull for it to be remotely useable. That sort of thing.
That is hilarious and there's so much room for creativity. Something like trying to replicate nanoscreen but they can't get the screen to stop at waist height, long skill gives total cover to one direction until the unit moves.
Yeah I was actually hoping that the Zeta would have had Nanoscreen as its "Holy crap the Zeta is high tech!?!" Rule.
I'd like to see a Zeta character. Maybe some pilot who decided to trick it out with some weirdo gear or something.
