High Res Logo Vectors 2: Curse of the Dead Forums UPDATE: Aug 16, 2020 Been busy in real life, so this project fell by the wayside. But the quality of logos available via the Army app has made it pretty superfluous at this point, since the app uses SVG vectors instead of tiny pixelated bitmaps. Here is how to get the SVGs out of the Army app: 1. Open the Army web browser app in Chrome and press F12 to bring up the Developer Tools panel, click the 'element inspect' tool. 2. Click on one of the logos (note: the unit logos within a profile don't seem to work like this, you need to click the logo in the horizontal line across the top of the screen). 3. In the Developer Tools panel, find the Styles sub-panel. 4. Right click the asset link, choose Open in New Tab. This will new tab will contain the SVG. UPDATE: Jan 25, 2018 "The SVG files on the google drive are messed up. They only show the upper right-hand corner of the emblem instead of the whole emblem." This question comes up every now and again. I build the vectors at X & Y coordinates 0.0000, and Google Drive and some other programs interpret that as the bottom left corner of the page, so it only displays the upper right quarter of the emblem in the preview. Opening the file in a SVG application will usually show the whole emblem. I'm adjusting these going forward, but older stuff may still display oddly. UPDATE: Dec 15, 2017 Apparently images uploaded with a dimension of 1000 pixels (or less) generate decent thumbnails. Anything above that gets a thumbnail of like 32 pixels or something. So, that's going to be my new standard resolution (the PNGs attached in the old thread were around 2300 pixels). The PNGs in the Google Drive will continue to be in the 2000+ pixel range. UPDATE: Dec 8, 2017 Current forum settings apparently will not allow you to view the full image unless you are logged in. UPDATE: Nov 26, 2017 Display of attached images remains spotty, you may need to right-click on an attachment's name and open it in a new tab (it does NOT display as a proper hyperlink, ie. coloured and underlined). Yep, sometimes files fail to load, but if you reload and reload (or use image view and then back, one by one) they end working.
Not being logged in seems to give you thumbnails by default. Logging in refreshed to show full size... mostly. No apparent rhyme or reason why some display properly and others don't. I log back in later, and different images are showing while previously OK ones are just a link.
No, it was while logged in, and it showed the file name (which can load by "reload image" in browser menu or "view image" and back) or the full size. Now I am getting "This attachment cannot be shown at this time. Please try back later." while clicking in the some attachment thingies (box at end of each post) in another thread (others correctly loaded the full picture in a new tab). Go figure. Or not, my guess is overload everywhere (the server, but also the client side, it loves to redraw and move things around), because more crap is the way of modern software. I see what you mean about thumbs while not logged, "get an account to see this" bait tactic.
