i would like to see a good post with an experienced player taling about his opinion about the new changes, hehe gogo guys..
I mean, I'm hardly a world-class player, but I have been playing SEF since N2 and even a lot in N3. I will miss having a Gwailo core and the Aswang, but the changes more than make up for their loss. In particular, changing my "brute-force" list from Gwailo + Hasht Core and 2 Q-Drones to Nox + Victor Core and 2 Ikadrons and 2 Q-Drones (MMS L2 and White Noise for the win) feels like a very good trade, even if the Nox are more restricted in their positioning than the old Gwailo. Of the new/reworked units, Caliban, Mentors and Taigha seem like the clear winners. Caliban for CoC or other specialist who can really pressure the midfield with good CC and gun options. Mentors for the safest Lt option to date plus Counterintelligence so you aren't punished for running 11-12 models. And Taigha to flank and force your opponent to be careful of their positioning and watch weird angles for a fast attack piece. Loser is in my opinion the Malignos. The new Killer Hacker is cool, but he's still very expensive for his kit (compare to Dasyu and be sad, and even Dasyu is sad compared to Proxy Mk2).
First list that popped into my head after looking at the update. Who knows if it's good, who knows if anyone will want to play infinity with me ever again if I use it, but I feel obligated to try this atleast once. Edit: Those two Caliban Spitfires are starting to look like they'd rather be two Speculo minelayers... I am required by law to play this list once ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 CALIBAN (Multispectral Visor L1) Spitfire, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife, CC Weapon. I didn't even notice the 0 swc minelayer got dazers instead. I guess the upside there is my Shrouded multisnipers get to start inside a saturation zone if I want for AROs
Regardless of overlapping, difficult terrain halts movement for that order when you enter it. With very difficult terrain you also can not move-move with one order. This combined with tons of camo and decoys is going to force your opponent to spend a ton of orders just to root out your guys. While being swamped by taigha creatures. My first list: Sheskiin link──────────────────────────────────────────────────GROUP 1 10 CALIBAN (Chain of Command) Submachine Gun, Pulzar, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife, CC Weapon. The taighas run in and start creating chaos in my opponent’s ranks. Need to deploy them carefully so their move won’t trigger template AROs that’ll hit my camo markers. Then I can move sheskiin over for free, join the link and start killing stuff. If the T-drone isn’t dead, I’ll drop the Cadmus and spend him instead of sheskiin the first turn. And then do the sheskiin move in turn two instead. The nox nimbus grenade launcher can force enemies to dodge sheskiins pulzar on -6 in addition to whatever damage she does with the red fury or even in cc. Between the link, all the camo and the taighas, the enemy should be swamped and I can spend the last two turns collecting objectives.
New Caliban are pretty sweet. I don't know if CoC works with Memnomica, but one issue I had with Avatar lists was the Avatar blowing up if it is KO, making repair units nonviable. A CoC Caliban can allow a Dr Worm for a more resilient Avatar. That Caliban MSV1 Spitfire is possibly the greatest profile in the history of the game. I hate camo mods and love models that can start up the table with some decent firepower. Wondering though about those Jayth. Firstly, is the mines on the Pit Patrol Taiga:Synch a typo? I believe I saw them on other Taiga earlier but not now. If we have our mine pretas back, even in this restricted form, thats a big deal. The other profiles seem incredibly legit. All the discount weapons (chain, SMG, red fury), ODD, great CC+NBW+DA, EM mines and even MSV1. Theres no core but I feel this type of CQB unit doesn't benefit as much from bodies and boosts relative to the higher risk of sending five dudes up the table. As a Haris, the Pit Patrol or possibly as the specialist solo this unit looks incredible. Seed Soldiers give us a sort of good and bad camospam. They can hatch in ARO and with ZoC ARO, but I'm not sure if they can go prone or if Limited Camo + Seed Embryo is still a situation of knowing exactly which things are seeds? A 17 point chest mine infiltrator that just sits on an isolated objective and maybe DEPs something is not a bad unit. The mine Speculo and Dazer shrouded profiles are a sick boost to Shas' ability to mess with the opponent. Really feels like a techy Ariadna instead of a crappy expensive Ariadna. And with the availability of MSV1 I feel we can finally contend with that faction.
...are the sync Taighas in the Pit Patrol supposed to have antipersonnel mines instead of a chain-colt?
