Hi guys, what list would you use when playing Biotechvore with Tunguska? Not the easiest of Tasks.

I've made this list and it did really great against my Aleph friend - he played OSS... (deva+dakini link + yadu/shakti/deva haris, sophotect and proxies) a huge gamble on my part. I think Steel phalanx whould just go tear this list apart.

BS14 ARM8 Shock mitigates a lot of the issues you get from SP.

I'd probably drop the Clockmaker (you're not going to use it) grab a 4th in the link for SSL2.

A couple of generic points: forward deployed things are underrated (it's a 45% chance of not having to spend orders to save them) and Smoke is awesome.

I'd run 2 Zondnautica and Hollowmen as the basis. But TAGs are solid, particularly at BTS9.

The only thing I would be aware of is the risk of Lieutenant assassination. The way that list is set up it would be fairly clear to your opponent (if they have some knowledge of the sectorial)

I used this list for Biotechvore for Tunguska, I thought it was fairly faceroll in terms of difficulty. I used the Lt. order to enter marker state if I was ever scared of his safety. The Hollow Men are exactly as disgusting in gun fights as I've called them out for the moment their profile was released, the only problem I've had was facing ODD spamming Steel Phalanx lists, which Tunguska seems to just instantly fold against. Otherwise I've pretty much crushed anything with Major Victories.

As @inane.imp said, there is no reason not to try and deploy outside of your deployment in Biotechvore. If you are successful you get an order other units can use to get out, if you fail it is not much different than having brought another unit.

    A) The person used an immature name for the group, it's best to ignore it and stick to the topic. That way the writer doesn't get the rise they may have been looking for and soon enough the post is buried with real content. Nothing good comes from drawing attention to it.

    B) This thread was effectively dead, refer to item A.

Personal opinions of Biotechvore aside, Tunguska deals with biotechvore the same as other sectorials: bring fast troops, try to go first, and force a link up the center. The Hollow Men link excels here if your opponent doesn't see them coming. Due to the hacking and E/M weakness I wouldn't bring this against an enemy that knows they're playing Tunguska that day. A surprise Grenzer link might play well in that scenario, typically MI would be an awful choice but the ITS10 given FD1 combined with BTS-6 makes them fairly reasonable. If you're in a larger tourney or your opponent doesn't know Tunguska than by all means bring the 1337gamer beatstick.

Tunguska lacks the other primary strats of impetuous troops and large order pools, so we need to be clever. As inane.imp suggested the ZondNautica is great here, high speed and it can throw smoke to cover the movements of other troops fleeing the biotech area. The FD1 Spitfire Tsyklon is also worth a look. High speed to move up if the FD fails and with everyone fighting in the middle a Spitfire is the perfect weapon, especially in suppressive. Puppets seem like a no-go due to the immobile PuppetMaster. Kriza is an all purpose beatstick as usual, just don't get too greedy hunting on your first turn or you'll run out of orders for movement.

I love the fact that this was literally your first post. Ever.

Except for this guy's internet wisdom for point A) & B), please don't listen to a word of what he said regarding Biotech. There's literally never a reason to go first in that mission, it's one of the worst missions in the game to go first and given the fact that both sides will start back so far back, you're usually not killing anything on your first turn. All you're doing is going first in the middle, while the second player gets to go into the middle and kill what ever you brought into the middle, since he was already on his way over there.

I freely admit going first was probably awful advice, but it's been working for me. I tend to play very heavy on board control so I prefer to get up there and lock down key firelanes or lay traps like crazykoalas and pitchers that will slow down the opponent. If you can force them to waste orders dislodging you then that's orders they can't use to move their units to safety.

I stand by what I wrote about the Tunguska units and other general tactics for the mission though.

Well if it suits your play style then more power to you, I can totally accept that people have preferences on different missions. I was mostly speaking in broad terms.

Reeeally? Are you so utterly sheltered and out of touch with internet culture that you are unable to recognise juvenile gaming lingo? This list was made to troll at a local event with others who brought equally ridiculous and “Offensive” lists as an inside joke.

Also, half of the family on my mothers side as well as my brother in law are homosexuals, I literally grew up with gay people. If you have such a strong reaction to something made in such a juvenile context and you’re unable to decipher the word out of context because you insist that you and everyone around MUST react in an offended and shocked manner by a simple word, then you’re the one who’s got a problem with gay people.

Listen to what the Civilized Barbarian said, as that’s actually legit good advice for people who cannot handle their fee fees.

You used an offensive slur and you're accusing me of being homophobic? That makes no sense. It might be an accepted part of juvenile gaming language in some godforsaken places, unfortunately, but in the rest of decent society it's an offensive slur and it's not acceptable to see used. If you don't want to get called out for using it don't use it, rather than getting defensive about it.

Didn’t get defensive over it, I’m baffled over how pathetically thin skinned some people are. I pity you.

Yes, you did. You still are, and now you're resorting to personal attacks. Using homophobic slurs is not okay, it's offensive, it's not big or clever or funny, it just makes you look like an arse. And it makes you look like even more of an arse when you double down on it and get all pissy. Grow up.

Not rly.. Also I'm rather amused of how determined you are to virtue signal that you insist that I'm "doubling down" even though it's impossible to point to anywhere that I do that...

Anyways, your pathetic attempts at shaming and virtue signaling is immensely boring to me. I'm out of this thread. I don't have time for out of touch boomers who needs to white knight.

Anyway for Tunguska I'd probably go for Grenzers, Hecklers, Tsyklons, Spektrs and such as they can start further up the board and therefore 1) have less distance to clear the zone and 2) can start already bypassing enemy firelanes.

If you go first you can set up firing positions to lock them down from their DZ, if you go second they'll struggle to do these if you're already pushing up the board from deployment.

I think Tsyklons are a bad choice. At 34pts and Phys 10 you're most likely to be inside your DZ. Grenzers I'm mixed on, I've seen a Bolt link do well thanks to bravery.

Spektr MSR is probably a good choice though. If going second, deploy it outside the BTV Zone somewhere safe (but in a TO state). If you fail, it goes back in your DZ on ARO duty. If going first leave it in HD in your DZ in a position with good LOF vs your opponent's approach. Don't activate it during your first turn, then ARO to slow your opponent down.

    This is kinda amusing:

They are still a 6-4 Movement though so can get out pretty easily if you if you fail.
