How does Marksmanship LX interact with a saturation zone. I did a Google search and found a couple of discussions on the matter, but none of them seem to reach a conclusion. Have we received a definitive answer? Teucers Feubach Marksmanship X Versus Saturation Is it more accepted to start new threads, or resurrect a thread from months ago?
Saturation will prevent you from using Marksmanship LX. You can only use that skill if you could take the shot and have a final burst (after all modifiers) of 2 or more. Literally calculate out everything that would affect the shot, and see what number you come up with.
Looking at how IJW described it in the linked thread, it seems that the timing may work differently though.
You declare the split of your burst first, then afterwards you apply saturation zones if any of your burst went through them, as per the FAQ Accordingly, you reduce your burst to 1 for using Marksmanship LX first, then assign it, then check if it's been assigned through any saturation zones, so you may freely use it when firing through a sat zone.
That was my answer in the one linked thread, and it's still my answer now. For what it's worth, @ijw's response at the time was
If you read the rules in Spanish: yes you can shoot MMSLX through Saturation. If you read the rules in English: it's very confusing whether you can. Saturation is a MOD that is applied separately to each target and depends on which burst you assigned. There is absolutely room for Toadchild's interpretation in the English rules, just like there is room for the opposite. In Spanish it also specifies burst after mods or burst on weapon profile needs to be higher than 2, so there Toadchild's interpretation doesn't work.
A : Marksmanship lvl X applies before deciding to split your burst on multiple target B : Saturation applies after deciding to split your burst on multiple target A + B : Marskmanship lvl X applies before saturation So yes you can use marksmanship lvl X whith saturation because saturation is the very last mod you apply to burst (based on example) Toadchild interpretation (as others going the same way) fails to answer this "time notion" of mod applied before or after burst splitting
That's interesting, somehow I never looked at this. "Es obligatorio emplear un Arma CD con un valor de R (ya sea en perfil o Modificado) de 2 o más." "It's required to use a BS Weapon with a value of B (either on profile or modified) of 2 or more"
