Just in case it is of interest to other JSA players, I figured I'd share my Interplanetario lists and results. I placed 17th out of ~140, and the missions, lists and results were: Highly classified (List A vs. JSA, major victory) Acquisition (List B vs. Haqqislam, major victory) Frontline (List B vs. ALEPH, minor victory) Firefight (List B vs. Onyx, loss) Supplies (List B vs. FRRM, minor victory) Supremacy (List B vs. Caledonia, minor victory) Lists: Interplanetary A ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 9 1 3 DOMARU Lieutenant Chain Rifle, E/M Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 21) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army I think the list B is actually the same exact list I posted a while back to a thread regarding Musashi and Tanko Haris. Both lists worked well, but I'm particularly fond of the second one and used it for every mission except Highly Classified. Also worth noting that this year's Interplanetary was played as a Limited Insertion tournament which I think played nicely in to the durability of the DoTanko core. I had Musashi to have the option of forming the Tanko Haris, but in the end I didn't use that fireteam even once. Instead, on couple of occasions I used Musashi as an aggressive Camo/Impersonator hunter and he did pretty amazing job at that. Besides that my strategy was pretty straight forward using Koalas and Ryuken's mine for area defense and then overpowering the ARO pieces with either Tankos or Domaru Spitfire.
O-Yoroi and/or Karakuri would have been strong contenders too, but unfortunately I don't much care for the current models...
With that List A, did you miss having Blitzen? I know it was facing JSA, but with Limited Insertion you're guaranteed to be facing a HI link...
Shikami didn't do anything. I deployed him as more of a backup unit but in the end didn't need him at all. Blitzen would've been so much better! In my Highly Classified game I was facing and O-Yoroi and the Contender/Flammenspeer Tanko had to take ARO shots against it. I think I even scored hits with the Flammenspeer... Oh well :)
First, I have to say I enjoyed our game. If i remember correctly you played list B. I like your list very much. And using musashi as a backup plan to form a defensive haris link with the tanko and be able to have the core of domaru to move forward if needed is brillant.
It was a great game indeed! :) And yep, I used list B. It's a shame the mission (Supplies) isn't very balanced and having the first turn is a huge advantage.
Well, I wouldn't blame the mission. I can identify some mistakes I made. And even f I had taken first turn, you could have come to kill my troop and maybe win anyway. I don't think the mission is so unbalance, especially when you only have a single groupe.
Here's the first game. I'll post other ones when I have a chance :) And I apologise for any details I remember incorrectly and/or misrepresent. Highly Classified vs Gozillah's JSA 7-1 Major victory If my memory serves me, the public classifieds were: Test Run, Telemetry, HVT: Espionage and Data Scan. My private classified was Extreme Prejudice. Test run was impossible for me. I used my list A for this mission. I won the initiative and chose to go first. Deployed everything hidden away with DoTanko in the middle of the board ready to advance where necessary. I held back Ninja AHD as the reserve due to the classifieds, and then deployed him as close to Gozillah's HVT as possible. Notable units Gozillah deployed were the O-Yoroi, Le Muet and Lu Duan posing as a Rui Shi. I immediately revealed the ninja to grab HVT: Espionage and moved DoTanko up the field a bit taking out the Lu Duan in the process. Gozillah followed by revealing a Ninja KHD, grabbing HVT: Espionage and attempting Data scan a few times on my Ryuken guarding the HVT, but without success. On my second turn I spent a couple of orders gunning down Le Muet from close range, and scored Data Scan on a Yaozao standing near by. Gozillah on the other hand started an O-Yoroi rampage towards my DoTanko team, ending up attempting to flamethrower them at very close range. I broke the fireteam and successfully engaged the O-Yoroi with the nearest Tanko, taking O-Yoroi down with a successful monofilament hit on the next order. I made some pretty decent rolls fending the O-Yoroi off, and Gozillah was making every armor save thus denying his chance for Test Run. Coming up close and personal with the DoTanko might've been a mistake though... In my last turn I advanced the Ninja a bit to grab Data Scan on a nearby enemy trooper and deployed my forces for defense. I never completed Extreme Prejudice, and it only later occurred to me that I probably had secured his HVT, but such is life. With my forces deployed defensively Gozillah was unable to score more objectives.
Fwiw, I think the Shikami should be either 6-4 or at least 6-2 MOV to be a bit more useful, and/or have a MULTI Rifle. I wanted a Shikami somewhere just in case I run into a table that has objectives in difficult to access places, but in the end I think all the objectives I encountered were at ground level.
Shikami = awesome on adequate terrain. Shikami = suck on open terrain. If your ground-level terrain is a Warband's Paradise, then it's about right for a Shikami to run across the rooftops.
