So I've decided to pick up the JSA pack, I'm wondering what to add on to bring the points up to 300 and give myself a flexible start to the force I already have a Red Veil ninja, and plan to use my PanO remotes and servants (more covert help from the Hexahedron), and the Specop makes a great Doc/Engineer so I'm not looking at the support box yet. I figure I can justify a box or two, plus a blister depending on cost, currently I'm thinking a good start would be: JSA support pack Domaru Box Yojimbo Saito/Shinobu (not sure which yet) Anything else I should look at?
DireFoes Mission Pack 3 is another good option with the char: Keisotsu Yuriko Oda and maybe the blister: Domaru Takeshi Neko Oyama. Karakuris are a good box too PD: Imo i would prefer Saito then you can use him at SoF missions ;D
*Sigh* I actually bought Dire Foes 3 on release for Isobel and traded away Yuriko and the civvie, maybe I should get another copy and use the second Izzy as a base for an ABH or something. Karakuri are an interesting option though.
I wouldn't get the Oyama blister, it's really old. Dude is freaking tiny compared to current Domaru. Still looks like them, but is about a head shorter and way skinnier.
How is his head for size? I'm not sure if I'd use 4 Domaru at the same time so I'm considering a headswap onto the larger Domaru body.
It'd be a bit small, his head is about the right size for the current model. There are some other model-makers who make heads, though. Either for swaps or by beheading a mini. Hasslefree Miniatures does some that should be about right for the new Domaru. With that sword stance, I'd be really tempted to make him look like one of the anime Saito (Kenshin, Hakuoki, or even Clockwork) I've been using the dual-wielding Domaru as-is to proxy for Oyama in my games, still with his helmet on.
hey ... weird place for my first post (especially since my main armies are QK and USAriadna) but I always kinda liked the idea of JSA ... and after branching out into Yu Jing with Red Veil I actually got two dual wielding Shikami (will convert one with Asuka's Assault Pistol). Those are without the hats ... so now I ordered two standing Shikami (went a bit overboard there - i know) ... one will wear the hat and be my Saito Togan proxy ... the other one will recieve a Do Maru Helmet and be my Takeshi Oyama - should go along fine with the Do Maru I just ordered before all the Uprising stuff happened. Really like the idea to use the Kaizoku Spec Ops as a Engineer (instead of the one in the Support Pack) ... hadn't thought of that.
Since I already have Musashi and most parts of Yuriko Oda, I'll probably pick up the Domaru Box first and then a support box. Speaking of head swaps, I'm currently trying to figure out how I can convert/build my own Oyama to look more like this: Current ideas are Musashi's head on one of the Domaru or armoring up one of the new Shikami for a more commanding pose.
Well, I ordered the Army box, Yojimbo, Domaru box, and Saito. Should be a good start. With Saito, my PanO, small Haqq force, and random merc collection I now have basically everything in DBS except the Druze, so I ordered their box as well! So that's two new armies I'm getting in May!
