Hey guys, I was doing a bit of brainstorming about possible closed battle lists for the upcoming campaign. As far as I can see, the PanO closed battle lists haven't really taken off, so it would be cool to develop some ideas on how the YJ lists could be awesome. Ideally, the lists would revolve around many of the new models and don't require having / buying really old stuff like the Shang Ji, which will likely receive new sculpts with the IA release. Best case, the lists involve many units from the Red Veil and Beyond Box. Since the closed battle lists are public, it doesn't make sense to include a lot of trickery: - AD troops are no surprise (one Tiger can still be cool though) - LT should either be obvious (e.g. Sun Tze, Hsien) or hidden by several of exactly the same models (e.g. 3 Zhanshi) It might make sense to give each battle list a bit of a specialization, so that they also make sense for use in Tournaments. (0.5 | 33) 7 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army All you need is Red Veil + expansion, the Zhanshi SWC box and the two Yan Huo blisters (assuming you proxie the Hsien LT with the HMG). The Zhanshi would get Fireteam: Core and possible special Fireteam core: up to 4 Zhanshis and a Hsien. To me this looks like a nice list with some clear strengths and weaknesses. This list would work on a bit more normal to full tables, can make use of the smoke trick, has more specialists and most important brings a lot more bodies. Here one would need the Red Veil and expansion, Zhanshi SWC box, two boxes with REMs, the Shaolin Box, the soon to be redesigned support box and the Hac Tao blister. Thats a bit more of an investment, but the even for newer players those are probably useful purchases. What do you guys think? I kinda stayed away from creating too crazy fireteams, do you have other ideas? In principle, a core of Zuyongs would be neat, but who has more than two of these guys?

The only crutch I can't really get rid of is the one Guilang..
I'm still holding out hope he misspoke or there will be a couple different takes on the CBLs where one might be Invincible Army, but yeah, if we take Bostria at his word in the interview with the White Noise podcast, it seems like they're meant to be the Imperial Service forces most enthusiastic/effective at killing the Japanese? Which would raise another path for conjecture... ISS is already a sectorial, and CBLs aren't just premade normal army lists, so what WOULD an Imperial Service Closed Battle List contain?
Hoping for something like 3 Wu-Ming and A Pheasant + Missile Launcher Drone or 3 Zhanying + Ashcroft + Bounty hunter or dare I say 3 Celestial Guard + Hsien (rifle) + Daikini (Paramedic)
These CBLs are going to be garbage tier in usefulness. I wouldn't recommend getting your hopes up on anything good at all.

It could also match a White Banner list with Svalarheima and get something centered around the Guijia and Zhanshi (our closest equivalents to the Jotum and Fusiliers.
According to a recent statment on a Australian Pod Cast (White Noise) the CBL are for the ISS Counter Insurgency Division. So no IA (yet anyway)
Take a look at the Pan-O ones. They're not good, they're made by people who aren't very competitive and just build for fluff reasons.

Its gonna have to be some pretty hectic shit for me to even care, especially after the end to end disappointment that the uprising has been for yu jing. I hope its not gonna be some matched lists to play against the unmodified contents of the JSA box, or maybe paired lists JSA with iss.

Pheasant BSG is there because he's a model every IS player owns and none of them uses. 2 Kanrens because they are counter insurgency and this is an insurgency that needs to be countered. The novelty of this list is having both a Guijia and a stable order pool. I am aware you can make better lists by downgrading the Guijia to a su jian and just playing IS normally, but then it can't be LT.
