I started a thread on the old forum about this mission at 200pts. I planned to use SEF but after a few practice games, I decided on vanilla. IMO, the Rasyat is the best AC2 assaulter. I was getting THRASHED by Tohaa he was just marching straight up the board murdering everything. I only had a few pieces left (three orders on the board). On the top of turn 3, I used my LT order for the AD program, dropped the Rasyat and had to spend three orders (worst case I think) to take out the AC2. But that was a 7pt swing in OP. He used a Tohaa chick with HMG and D-Charges, but she's only CC16. So she hits on 13s. She whiffed and blew all her charges giving me the win after getting completely blasted off the board. I ended up winning 7 to 2. He got his classified and more items.
I agree that the Rasyat has all the tools. The Sphinx is a good choice too, especially if the enemy is putting mines everywhere. I've seen someone do it with a Dat link; those fireteam bonuses can make it a sure thing.
I'm not convinced you get Fireteam bonuses. There's a funky rules interaction about needing to be engaged to get bonuses.
Rasyat & Sphinx are my go-to tools. In a two-list format I recently took Avatar & Ko Dali because I wanted to, KD works well, as does Avatar, he can just brute force slap the objective but it may take an extra order or two. You can do it with fireteams but they all have to be engaged, same as CC.
Yeah but in 200 pts ? Both the Sphinx and Avatar are too expensive, no ? Arguing against being engaged with scenery you have to CC attack feels so pedantic its painful. I get the argument though.
I agree. But there are a few rulings I don't like or agree with. I just wanna know the right answer for this one. ;) Either way, I still think (and most definitely at 200pts) the Rasyat shines as the demo guy for the AC2. At 300, I really really like Sheskiin. His only drawback is not being eligible for Data Tracker.
Sheshkiin has D Charges? God damn. Might have to try that. I stand by Ko Dali with some E-Drone or Assist Jump. She can land real close to it. :)
She's ok I guess. She's PH13 (same as Rasyat) but only CC18 and you can't use Protheion with D-Charges so she's hitting on 15s (the Rasyat can negate the -3 wth the +3 from NBW to hit on 21).
