OK, we have the models (and I'm extrapolating some likely sculpts). But why is it so freaking hard to make a Kouan Kyuuka list?!? This is the only list I've been able to come up with, using models we know. Public Security Section 9 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 8 2 1 Major RYŪKEN (Forward Deployment L2, ODD) Submachine Gun, Antipersonnel Mines, D-Charges / 2 Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) Togusa KEISOTSU Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 9) Batou RYŪKEN (CH: Limited Camouflage) Heavy Rocket Launcher, Antipersonnel Mines / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 23) Saito KEMPEI (Multispectral Visor L2) Shock Marksman Rifle / Pistol, CCW, Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) Pazu YOJIMBO Contender, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 21) Boma DAIYŌKAI MULTI Marksman Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CC Weapon, AP CC Weapon. (0 | 52) Ishikawa KEISOTSU Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 17) Aramaki WARCOR (Sixth Sense L1) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3) Proto TOKUSETSU KOHEI Engineer Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) YÁOZĂO Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) YÁOZĂO Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) Tachikoma WÈIBĪNG Yaókòng Combi Rifle, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 16) GROUP 2 4 Batou's Tachikoma HÙSÒNG Yaókòng HMG / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 25) Tachikoma LÙ DUĀN Mk12, Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21) Tachikoma PANGGULING (Total Reaction, Repeater) Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21) Tachikoma PANGGULING (Total Reaction, Repeater) Combi Rifle / Electric Pulse. (0 | 21) 6 SWC | 298 Points Open in Infinity Army I assigned the obvious sculpts. I'm quite irked that the obvious Major sculpt is not even a Specialist, let alone a hacker of some flavor. We haven't seen the Kempeitai Marksman rifle sculpt, but with MSV it's an obvious choice to be Saito. The Tokusetsu Engineer could really be any of a number of members of Section 9, and could also be a doctor (I'm more afraid of glue than of getting shot, though). I chose Proto because he shows up in GitS 2nd Gig.
Awesome! (although a bit small, you couldn't fit Batou inside of them even if you cut him in pieces :p ) Where did you get them?
I think about this all the time! And now that we've got some inspired sculpts I'm hitting the same sticky wicket you are in that what I would consider optimal profiles for the section 9 team don't necessarily line up with the profiles their sculpts are supposed to represent. The Major- Ryuken is an OK profile for her, but like you I'm not in love with it. I Think Shikami is profile that best matches her: mobile resilient specialist that's good in CQB and has optical defenses. Batou- Ryuken is a much better fit for him than the Major. As a resilient heavy weapons guy I could also see a case being made for a Daiyokai or maybe even a Tanko. The aesthetic is all wrong, but the Karakuri load outs are not a bad fit either. Togusa- Keisotsu is certainly a good fit. I could also see a case for the CoC, Number 2 Kempeitai Ishikawa- JSA really isn't spoiled for hackers, Keisotsu certainly feels like the best fit. Boma- He always felt like the SWC member of the squad. I'd actually pick him for one of the Keisotsu SWC options. Saito- consider we only have a single MSR in the whole faction, I guess our options are either ninja or MSV2 Kempei like you suggest. That second option is appealing for a reason I'll get into in a moment. Pazu-The Forward Deployment Ryuken feels good for him. I always got the impression that he was the 'melee infiltration spy guy' so i could see a case being made for a Ninja profile, or even Saito Togan. There is some appeal to me for using Neko or another Domaru profile for him, though. And that's because you can could run the 3 Keisotsu +1 Domaru +1 Kempeitai Core and have these 5 run in a link team. So you'd have something that looks like this for the base team: Spoiler Japanese Secessionist Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 7 KEISOTSU Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 9) KEISOTSU Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 17) KEISOTSU HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 17) KEMPEI (Multispectral Visor L2) Shock Marksman Rifle / Pistol, CCW, Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) DOMARU (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, E/M Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW, Shock CC Weapon. (0 | 36) SHIKAMI Combi Rifle / Pistol, DA CCW, AP CCW, Knife. (0 | 47) RYŪKEN (CH: Limited Camouflage) Heavy Rocket Launcher, Antipersonnel Mines / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 23) 5 SWC | 174 Points Open in Infinity Army That leaves 126 points and 1swc to add remotes and such. That 1 SWC isn't optimal though, cause there's no room for a rui shi or husong. A good Section 9 list is tricky.
Mine are a tight fit on 40mm bases, sure, but compared to the Fuchikomas I found that actually overhang a 55mm base?
Wow, where did you get these? I`ve used delivery service that has warehouse in USA and then sends parcel to their office in Ukraine. It`s much cheaper this way. Maybe there are similar companies in Spain.
I like it. I wouldn't assign the Major to actually be a Ryuken-9... I'd probably go with a Ninja, just to represent her abilities more accurately, and have Pazu and Togusa be the two SMG Ryuken-9 (they're both very combat capable at close-range.) I like all your other choices. A Keisotsu for Aramaki isn't perfect, but you can always decline to fire his Combi for fluff reasons if you want to play thematically, and it does make sense for him to be the LT (I feel like his loss would freeze the team in their tracks more effectively than the field loss of any other member of the team.) Plenty of points left for Tachikoma, support crew, etc. Japanese Secessionist Army ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 8 Boma DAIYŌKAI MULTI Marksman Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CC Weapon, AP CC Weapon. (0 | 52) Major NINJA Hacker (Assault Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Shock CCW, Knife. (0.5 | 40) Togusa RYŪKEN (Forward Deployment L2, ODD) Submachine Gun, Antipersonnel Mines, D-Charges / 2 Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) Pazu RYŪKEN (Forward Deployment L2, ODD) Submachine Gun, Antipersonnel Mines, D-Charges / 2 Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) Batou RYŪKEN (CH: Limited Camouflage) Heavy Rocket Launcher, Antipersonnel Mines / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 23) Saito KEMPEI (Multispectral Visor L2) Shock Marksman Rifle / Pistol, CCW, Electric Pulse. (1 | 25) Ishikawa KEISOTSU Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. Or try ebay. I found a set with shippment to Europe for less than 50$. @sarf how big that Jigabachi is next to infinity miniatures? Would you mind taking a shot as well? ;)
If that's the case, then the YurikoOda profile probably fits him best. Still a Keisotsu that could link, mines, d charges, and a panzerfaust to boot.
Thematically is the Shikami not a better fit for the Major? I know the sculpt doesn't look like her, but in terms of in game skills I think it's much closer.
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/3f/2c/a7/3f2ca7bc4c45639d1247ea48050f3df0.jpg Assault hacking aragoto seems fine to me for the Major, complete with impetuous personality and hacking to freeze AWL the things. Certainly, she's missing the TO camo, but, eh, small sacrifices must be made. Section 9 didn't have access to TO camo, anyway, but did have to fight against TO camo, heh; I'd equate the Major's cloaking to regular Camo
The Fuchikomas? Some collectible PVC mini of the Major came with a small Fuchikoma, they're hard to find now. Picked them up several years ago and have been working on the Kouan Kyuuka proxies/conversions since. Used a couple of the Jigabachi's Tachikomas for the foundation of the Logikomas from Arise. Ghost in the Shell Motoko Kusanagi Fuchikoma Figure Hard Disk ALPHA JAPAN ANIME ? Have you not seen Standalone Complex? First episode of SAC Major, Batou, and even Togusa are using TO camo! Same thing for the first episode of 2nd Gig. Heck, even the Tachikomas have TO camo!
I did see Standalone Complex and one of the big deals was that they use OPTIC camo, whereas they fought against the American Delta Force who were using THERMAL optic Camo and they couldn't see them because they didn't have any multi spectral visors, saying this almost using the exact same wording. This is why I equate Section 9's equipment as camo vs the American Delta Forces's actual TO Camo. EDIT:: Clarification
