Basic Domaru got Shock CCWs and Dualwield for 1 point, considering how E/M CCW Crits work without the Shock CCW as well as the Shock FAQ, that is a good investment for a troop critting on 8s. They didn't cause automatic wounds on Crits before. Any Specialist at all is a bonus, but his points are off (which is something weird about a lot of things in NA2) Combi + FO should be 5 below Spitfire - he is 2 points too expensive. Aragoto only pay 2 points over a Combi for Combi+LSG, which is great, but also new. Best guess for now would be they adjusted some stuff in the points formula and we everything in NA2 is priced according to that. That KHD is amazing to get.
Thanks, good catch. With all the odd point changes and translation errors in NA2 I was expecting to see some ghosts.
Not noticed anyone mention it but you can now put 4 Domaru and 1 Tanko in a link, which might go a long way to fixing the previous domaru/harmaki purchasing nightmare.
What do you mean? It's way more expensive now, the cheapest Haramaki as a link filler used to only be 22 points and now you're forced to take 26 point domarus. The dirt cheap fillers were kind of a godsend to playing the 5-man HI link. And you have to think about where your Tanko is going because you only get 3, that's the hardest part.
As in if you wanted to use a domaru link with a missile haramaki you had to buy two box sets, a blister and then put four models on the shelf.
#2nd last -last thoughts on the oniwaban i promise XD @barakiel 1)Little off topic About the other killers: Ok i didnt realize Impersonation dosent kick in Vs Ca and tohaa. But you can just leave them out if you know what you are up against. But you serenely have a Point. Ca is super unpopular in my meta. I dont think that SCW are super important for the JSA. Most of our units do pretty well without needing them. Also Ca can get +1Swc Lt. So its more about listbuilding than the Scw investment. jep Foxtrots are amazing Assassin Peaces and Adriana can field 2 each with 8+ orders easy. The do Mostly what the oni dose (killing People with shotguns) and if your 20p model gets popt who cares?XD 2)The Order efficiency of the oni is debatable. He still gets stuck on most of the thinks you described. (Mines and waste orders on supression) so the counterpeaces and smokers still need to get up and help him. 3)Ok my numbers where wrong sorry. But 4/5=80% so technically my point stands. I don't want to lose my 40p Oni on my own dice roll. Again this might be a preference in Play stile. It also affects the Point above. Sup. Infiltration is just to Risky for my taste. 4)”Hidden Deployment is the game's best defensive ability.” Quiet a statement XD. Probably deserving of its on thread. I disagree. From my Point of few the best Defensive ability waste your opponents orders. Hidden Deployment allows you to keep your model save until it scare jumps but you also lose the order until you do so. Its a Pretty heavy Drawback. Ones you model is out your hidden deployment doesn't keep him save anymore. For that reason i think TR or Total immunity are better defensive trates. (I dont what them on the oni just saying) The longer i discuss the oni the more i see what an amazing upgrade the SMG could be. Suppression fire +reduced point cost might finally sell me on the profile. Currently the two are the only sorces of smoke other than Yojimbo. Army builder seems updated so we are not getting an other option. Its not only a tool for himself but for the whole force. Maybe he just fits my Playstile better. My problem remains that the two cost ruffly the same and i dont use Sup Infiltration that often. (and shinobu is wifeu, weep weep)
Yet all these exist in a different ecosystem. - Never had problem using Superior Infiltration on purpose. 75% is 2.5 times better chance to work for me and most times it did. Plenty of mission where I can plant him for the mid to end game, he costs a lot so easy to weight in some zone. - Not really much to go around it, and it’s more of of an offensive tech. I never expect the Oni or Ninja to survive. They are tools, and I’m plenty of happy trading them if their move makes an impact. - BSG is a gun that allows someone with low BS to make a target cry w/o engaging in CC. It has an impact template, so those units hugged behind a corner can get gunned w/o even seeing you. Again, this is something I used plenty of times and I can’t even remember a case it failed me. Now there is even submachine profile, if you want to go on defensive when needed. - Sure, unless he’s planted well. Which he usually is. Well, easy to judge now base on Tankos, but we had an Imperial Agent to judge about it before. Mono is inexpensive. BSG delivered up close - well, much less so. It has been changed for SMG a BSG is worth 4 points where an SMG costs one. A 35 pts Ninja would cost 39 with BSG (38 if the use the Shock CCW). Won’t see much play next to Oni, right? Lack in almost any other field. - For a CC army they lacked much of what was needed to go close. Smoke is very expensive or a bit unreliable. - Weapons. Not BS, mind yiu, BS 13 I’m fine with, but the TAG had HMG, not AP, got cracked plenty of times. - Hackers. Ninja is fine, if you pay for it. Apart from that we are still not good there. - Worst cheap troops ever. I mean we can make plenty of orders but they do nothing but sit there even in a link, and I’d much orefer more HI link options. Mind you, with the changes I’m happy enough, ODD midfielder, MSV2 marksman rifle in a link, Tankos, most of all - Saito is specialist now, and the Oniwaban got a great close range weapon with Suppressive fire at a lower cost. The O-Yoroi is great with AP (in a 400 pts game I’d see no reason to pass on it for one of the lists). Apart from Musashi not getting ODD, I love the changes. Most players don’t ralize that balance in Infinity has never been about having similar units. Using less terrain will always make you a losing side if you play the army with less firepower, or lacking means to get close. Multiterrain is something we almost never need, for example. We played with lots of terrain (up until I had to inspect every table and include lanes and such to avoid some factions complaints), well, it’s very different. Oops, I didn’t see there are plenty of posts since I left the thread opened.
@geniusloci : a BSG is 1 point cheaper than a Combi. That 35 point Ninja would be 34 points with a BSG (or 42 points with Combi+BSG)
