Since there seems to be some weird misunderstanding about the "Range" of CC hanging in the room lets clear that up and expand on what @meikyoushisui said. Even forfeiting Superior Infiltration you start 12" up the field, most likely in Total Cover. I'd also like to point out how important it is to deploy TO troops you want to protect against Sensor Prone - something you have to write down together with where your TO guy's position, so don't forget about it during deployment. This means you have instant access to any Skirmisher in the midfield from a possibly unexpected angle. And you're the guy with TO to grant the initiative against everyone without that feature. Troops without Marker States are at a massive disadvantage just from that. But what Camo grants you in general is a free ticket to Move-Move through any number of AROs unharmed for a single Order. Aside from Perimeter weapons and Mines nothing can deny this option followed by a Move+CC Attack for a 12" death bubble. The Camo guy will most likely bite it - fortunately, there are a lot of targets worth taking that trade for. A 37 points Oniwaban makes this option a lot more attractive than 47 points Shinobu, especially if you bring both. Using Smoke to do the same still has the Perimeter/Mine problem and costs double or triple the Orders. Hardcases too actually. Got to run a game with a friend's USA vs his Corregidor to help him out figuring out how to play them. If you lack other options you take what you get. Although they're nowhere near as good at it as the top contenders and have entirely different priorities and options than Ninja/Oniwaban. Wouldn't directly compare them like @fatRat . Gotta admit we are really spoiled with AVA3 Fugazi for Coordinated Sniffer + Sensor sweep with NCA and SAA. Nevermind that though, Sensor is probably the most powerful but forgotten (or at least neglegted) Skill in the game. Not necessarily redesigned, but the Ikari Company has a "Rui Shi (JSA Version)" in it's army list. I'd hope the JSA has a second Profile (i.e. Multi MMR) but doesn't lose the Spitfire. So far no further details on that I'm afraid.
Hm, really? CB has a straight record for those faction specific changes. Always happens to the profiles not the default layout. Kempetai CoC, SWC cost, Saito's Specialist Operative..... didn't even consider something else than the weapon was even possible to be worried about, until now that is. Guess I wouldn't mind. The Kempetai MMR is a suitable replacement if need be.
It's the logical target to show in rules what happens in fluff if they want to reduce the "technology level" of JSA. Rui Shi with MSV1 for 17/1. Of course, Kempei gained MSV2 so... I dunno. I just hope it's not a straight upgrade (Druze Saito), 'cause that would truly suck.
That JSA Rui Shi is an odd one. If that note had been mentioned in the previewed JSA roster, I'd give it more credence. But the fact that it was mentioned in the Ikari roster, but not in JSA, makes me wonder if that was a concept that was playtested and abandoned, but accidentally ended up in the Ikari roster with a mistaken copy+paste. It sure would be interesting though. What if it ended up with Koalas?
I don't think there is scope to make the rui shi better without inciting pure unadulterated rage. I also can't fathom the fluff justification for the insurrectionists to have better tools. Making it worse is a possibility, but one I hope that looked into but changed their mind. Unless they gave us more smoke. I'd take an MSV1 bot for greater access to smoke anyday!
Either my community is playing this wrong, or you are a lucky fellow, cause if my Camo units move through several AROs, my opponents tend to declare "discover" with some of them, and "delay" with some of the others...resulting in me getting murdered if I declare move-move and one of their discover succeeds....
That is precisely what I thought you guys could be doing wrong. You get Discovered after the Resolution Step of the Order. So you're still a Marker that can't be shot for the entire duration even if some Troops delay. Delay only does something if you declare a Skill that reveals you as your second Short Skill (which then cancels the Marker State for the entire Order and allows any delayed ARO to be used). Since Move doesn't do that the delayed ARO is lost.
CB has a tendency to make the technologically inferior profiles slightly more optimized. Rifle+Light Shotgun is arguable more versatile and in most cases better than Combi, but for the same cost, for example. This isn't always true, of course, but simply giving it a second profile with, say, dual Combi would still be better because extra option. Also, I'm fairly certain by now that the unadulterated hatred isn't a big concern. :) You're joking, but that'd be sweet! Imagine a REM quadroped with a tiny torso (where the Rui Shi has its "head") and a whole bunch of small-ish manipulators ending in swords.
http://infinitythewiki.com/en/index...ding_(CH)&redirect=no#AROs_against_CH_Markers However, if you choose to delay your ARO, you may only declare it if the Camouflage Marker revealed itself with its second Short Skill. If the Marker does not reveal itself, the reactive trooper loses his right to ARO.
Well...guess we made the mistake of assuming that "gets forced to reveal himself" (due to successful Discover) would trigger this as well. Sweet, this will make my Ninjas//Oniwaban and so on more effective ^^
I got this wrong too until someone told me otherwise, you're not alone! For profiles that carry a large cost such as Oniwaban, Cutter, Sphinx etc, it makes it a lot easier to use them without killing them!
Yeah. Bit of a heart breaker really, given how many things .5 SWC can get you in this new JSA. If Keisotsu stay at AVA5 rather than the AVAT that was reported in the early release materials, running the Rui Shi may not be as easy as it was. It'll take some serious effort just to get JSA up into the 14-15 Order range, which I consider a pretty happy average for ITS.
See there? Corregidor and Aleph welcome you to the club of tight SWC. PanO is honorary member, lest they salt all of Varuna's seas XD
Yes indeed. I know the phenomenon well from my Acontecimento. The Keisotsu LT at 1 SWC is rough, which may mean buying a more expensive LT... Which means either sinking points into a pricey unit that hides in the back, or spending yet more points for Chain of Command. Tricky dilemma.
The domaru all got a point bump as well. In addition to the much anticipated specialist being on the combi rifle profile at a whopping 36 points! 3 points shy of the wonderfully optimised ex-spitfire profile. Who is also more expensive :( :( That was about the only change I could expect. It hurts though, along with all the other little point bumps will make some of my old lists just not quite work. Except the aragoto who got cheaper AHD AND and KHD!!
That begs the question though...can you put a bike into Impersonation Lv2 or so? Because that would be stupid good.
