We don't know for sure. There's a lot of precedence in older lists that seem to imply that keyword is only one way of counting fireteam purity. The white banner fireteam in white banner contains no units with the white banner tag. Obviously that could change, but as others have said, your suggestion that ONLY the keyword name of the fireteam matters adds extra info to track and complicates things. It is the opposite of the polish that is the theme of N5.
I disagree. It totally simplifies how you denote what makes team pure. Which in the new video today Carlos stressed even more but sadly still didn't clarify anything. But I also hear Killian say something about BAIR not getting full bonus in a team but still very good. Which he is. That guy is going to be a huge pain in my back area. Literally. Anyway, I'm not going to say anymore about the fireteams until we see full rules. We shall see.
Black AIR + Killer Hacker + Parachutist(Deployment Zone) is a very good profile too... not with a great weapon (SMG), but a good option to punish the back of enemy deployment.
This discussion about purity has gone too far, lets be honest here trying to make something easy complicated is not constructive. Purity is determined by the majority of units been the same either by virtue of been the same unit or sharing the same keyword. Otherwise I am waiting to hear the excuse of why a Duo or Haris of Griffin troops in Kestrel Fireteams has a fireteam purity of zero and no fireteam bonuses, same goes with most Duos from units that are not keyworded in both previews.
perhaps they thought that simultaneous activation was already a sufficiently important bonus for troopers potentially equipped with devastating equipment or weapons? maybe this is the way they chose to limit fireteam bonuses to standard sectoral troops? maybe they considered that introducing heavy infantry into a Fireteam and having the right to do so is already a bonus? Who knows? but I'm also a fan of let's wait and see
I fail to see what is complicated in counting the units that have a tag. Maybe to work as duos exactly like they work today? Exactly this. Bostria says over and over that the Bracket is critical for FT composition. He explicitly said « you need Fennec tag for FT purity » and hinted several times that the objective is to decrease the power of FTs, yet, people expect to get +1B like it was nothing. Anyway agreed with this: It’s getting tiring :)
Exactly this, I dunno why you people are overcomplicating things, keywords matter because they allow you to mix different troops without losing purity levels.
As I said by keeping the logic of only keywords count a Duo or Haris of Griffins count as a purity of zero and we have no rules of fireteams having Zero purity, or any mention that fireteams can only consist with troopers that have keywords.
It would have a purity of 1. Which is only activation with 1 order. Exactly like todays Duo work. Nobody said that. A FT made of troopers with no keywords would be working like todays Duos, even if they are 5. Which Carlos said: it will happen that you will have several troopers in a FT without any bonus Hopefully they will address that in the Demo video
Technically, no, it wouldn't. Go look at the graphic for Fireteam levels again: There's 1 grey troop at level 1. If grey troops are keyworded troops, then a Haris of 3 Griffins would have 0 grey troops. By the logic that the name/keyword is what you count, the team would have 0 name/keyword members. Hence, Level 0.
Eeeh, not a fan. Lots of vulnerable units, that don't do too much from a distance and don't hide too well from enemy bullets. Also the guy with every single skill in the book. True, the mobility is good, but the strength of it is very very board-dependent. Fluff-wise I'd probably like them more, once I learn how they got nano-screen and plasma, and once I see what Shurayuki can do. Especially if she is not another paper tiger. Overall, I feel like this box is the worst one in terms of gameplay creativity, at least since N4. PanO half, as good as they are, are just Acon 2.0 and new JSA is slightly underwhelming.
You're correct... That makes completely sense Or you would need to have at least 1 trooper with the keyword, but that doesn't make sense because the stars (or the 1) is what defines who has to be in the fireteams to create. So yes, you should indeed be correct
The nokizaru with cool weapon is not specialist and cant camo, Fuck my life. Back to use ninjas again Senkus only with one SWC weapon 2 SWC for the Missile raiden and only Mim -3? PASS Jizzamurai, cool, but only 1 Wound and not very resilient with all that MSV epidemy, compared with the Domarus, i think i still prefer the Domarus (and thats a thing, because i really dont like domarus that much) Hatamoto. Nice, the GOAT Yamabushi. Short range weapons with only 10cm advance deployment... And how disposable weapons will work now with the +1 burst but retire 1 dice after? very unbalanced box towards the Pano part My only hope with Shinden is all the units that dont come with the box, but for now is a shitty army with shitty FT options
Do any of you understand why Martial Arts have +3 CC instead just add +3 CC to the profile, when NBW is not removing it in any way?
I kinda of love the huge contrasts of the KFC versus the JSA forces. JSA will have to rely on using Climbing Plus effectively, understanding range, and forcing CC. It is definitely more of a finesse army. It is definitely going to have a learning curve. Rule wise, we learned that when Frenzy triggers, the model gains the limited cover rule (no bs penalty, still get the armor bonus). That is a good trade off and hopefully affects units in fireteams.
