Also, D-charges and Shock Immunity. I assume the same as you do as the Blackwind set did something similar. The BS changes are neat. I also like the Lore idea that PanO weapons are just more accurate or easier to use...
Abso Absolutely! I always assumed YJ gave JSA troops the worst gear. I do like a lot of their ARM being 3. It keeps Tanko and Domaru as being cheap
From here: September>December 2024: Nuclear winter has struck, leaving room for the N5 - New JSA sectorial may have some non-human tech - New planet has ruins of an ancient civilization - New weapons in N5
In the latest video the still image from the coming tutorial videos had the Keisotsu at BS 10. Could be an editorial error but I guess it remains to be seen if they actually got that BS increase or not.
Some name translations: Shinden Butai: Magnificent Lightning Corps (Shinden was the name of a Japanese WWII fighter plane). Senku Troops: Pioneer Troops. Nokizaru Unit: Nokizaru is an alternative name for Ninja, literal meaning is "rooftop monkey". Jizamurai Hanryodan: Provisional Samurai Half-Brigade. Jizamurai is a provisional samurai who engaged in agriculture in peacetime. Hatamoto - Banner Guard (personal retainer of a high lord). Raiden Seibutai: Thunder and Lightning Fine Weather corps. Oban: Great Watch.
Some bits from an spanish video of the presentation: Senkus are experts in arid terrains Raiden, well, is the raiden Nokizaru is the skirmisher, mainly a shooting profile, but very capable in CC Jizamurai, CC Monster Hatamoto, like a griffin, but in JSA (griffins are veteran Orcs, so Hatamotos are veteran Domarus??)
I'm a bit surprised, that nobody pasted here teaser of our new unit (or I'm really bad at searching): (IP means HI)
Thats a rather weird unit. 2 wounds but only arm 2. No cover but has a nanoscreen. A powerful CC unit but also good shooting capability with Mim -3 and BS 13. Frenzy discount gives a reasonable cost of 38 points. Its an interesting unit and it sure looks like JSA will continue to be CC focused but will gain much better shooting capability.
What did they do to the Rein. Shikami? There must be some mistake there right? Lose Climb+, Superjump and Specialist Operative and gain +1B on the Flashpulse for just 2p drop. Also Rein. Oyama randomly gets CC +1 damage.
Interesting update. Some more Multrifles, a hacker unit, a cheap cc filler, and a medium infantry gunfighting piece. The usefulness in N5 will strongly depend on their link options. Edit: The Daiyokai gets an HMG for 1 SWC???? What? That has to be a typo.
Personally, I'm scratching my head. Is that representative of N5, or just a transitory period? And what is the point of publishing either at this specific point...?
Isn't all that a bit bland and meh? Sure, it's hard to tell as N4 is almost gone but I don't know, I'm not hyped by any of these profiles (including the Mechazoid), except for the new Dayokai. None of them has a particular flavor or "wow!" effect. More like "oh, ok, some hacker", "oh, OK, some too expensive MI", etc...
If I remember correctly there were always a few early releases like this, indicating what is to come with new edition. Main point would be to maintain hype, I guess.
