    COMUNICADO OFICIAL

    Official statement

As we have seen rumors beginning to spread, we would like to get out in front of the issue and publish this statement to explain what happened during the final game.

A few hours after the end of the tournament, one of the players in the final realized that the survivor count for his opponent to enter Retreat! had been made incorrectly. The opponent went on to win the match because he had entered Retreat! After talking to both players, and with people who had watched the game, we believe that this mistake was not intentional.
Due to this fact, we have decided to not modify the result of the game or the final classification.

    Our reasons are as follows:
The game finished with 30 minutes to spare, more than enough time to ask a judge, another player or even the ITS supervisor present at the tournament to check the results. Due to this, we consider it a mistake made by both players.
We consider that once they have handed in their tournament control sheets, both players are showing that they agree with the results. We will be including this as a specific rule in all our future tournaments.
We believe that changing the result of the game after the fact would risk setting a negative precedent for this kind of event. Everyone would want to be able to review their games and ask for changes after the fact.
If the game had not entered Retreat! it would have continued and it is impossible to be certain what the result would have been as there were still turns left to play.
We regret that something like this might in any way spoil the experience the players had at the tournament. We believe that the event was a great success and we are already working so that next year it can be bigger and better.

From our side, we consider the matter is settled but we wanted to be transparent and share the reasons behind the decision with the community.

Thank you for coming to the first European Infinity Challenge
    Greetings
PS: Soon we will be publishing a report on the event with photos and a lot more information on what went on during the weekend.

First of all I wanted to thank all the organizers for wanderful event! Lot of tables looked very nice and interesting and venue was greet! See you next year!

Secondly to say thank you for all players with who we meat at the tables @Pupnik @Chibiru @WhelpSlayer @Daixomaxu @Leirbag - it was pleasure playing with you all!

Also it's was pleasure to meet all other know players and to talk to every one.

Thirty as Infinity becomes more and more competetive I wanted to start the discussion about players judgment and responsabilieties. Becouse I really don't agree with idea that knowing hidden information of opponent list is responsibility of his opponent. But let it be in different topic:

Just got home safe and sound. I'll post a more detailed comment later but in the mean time I just want to say a big thank you to the organizers, the hotel staff, all my friends and opponents for making EIC a truly unique Infinity experience!

    https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/eic-2018-sea-sand-and-suppressive-fire.3289/#post-46332

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hello everyone:

It's been a few days since we just picked up the room where the tournament was held. It was strange to see that room, once noisy and lively, empty and silent. Even without stopping to think about what happened, we all felt a moment of nostalgia. There had happened something very exciting, something incredible. It was over, but a smile was drawn on our face for a job well done.
The feeling is clear: we have achieved it. With its mistakes and things to solve. We have closed a great weekend, with many people having a great time and wanting to return next year.
The bet was very risky, but today we are proud to have made that decision.

But we are only a small part of the event. There is much to be thankful for:

First of all, to the players. Who have believed in this event. Thanks for making us the satellite with the most players in Europe. We understand that it is not easy to travel to the island. It was a complicated decision because it is the first time that an event of this kind has taken place in Mallorca and for this we have to thank you. Special mention to foreign players, since for them it is more complicated and expensive. Players from all over Europe and abroad: Belgium, USA, France, Lithuania, Denmark, Italy, Brazil, Israel ...
Here you can find the impressions of some of these players:
    https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/eic-2018-sea-sand-and-suppressive-fire.3289/#post-46332

The level of the players was very high, with many of the best ITS players. And the behavior was impeccable.

To the Staff of Corvus Belli and Luxumbra, always attentive and willing to collaborate in whatever we ask them.

To the people who came to collaborate so that the event went well. People from Bakunin Club, No Petaca and AIF. Everyone worked very hard during the 6 months prior to the event and the 4 days it lasted. Giving everything so that the event was the best possible.
And, although tired, they already think about next year.

To the brands that gave us prizes, they made the exclusive products, they left us tables and material for the event. Brands like:
    - Infinity
    - Plast Craft Games
    - GamesBadges Badges
    - Luxumbra
    - Collateral Studio
    - DAY CASH model section
    - Micro Art Studio
    - Laser Army Scenery
    - GTS Mallorca
    - Customeeple

To the podcasts and blogs that have given us diffusion, such as Sin Petaca 2.0, Mas Alla De Mordor and Miniaturas y Wargames.

To the Mar Hotels Chain and to the Aparthotel Playa Mar & Spa hotel, in Port de Pollença. For an unbeatable deal, giving us all the facilities and allowing us to do all the crazy things that occurred to us. We are happy, and I think the players too. Next year we will repeat the site if possible.

To those who could not come. Some players due to last minute problems did not attend the tournament. Next year we hope to see you and take away that thorn.

But not everything can be patted on the sword, we are very critical of ourselves. Although the comments are very positive there are things that were not perfect, and others went directly wrong. We have sent a survey to know what things did not work. The response to the survey is fantastic. Thank you very much for that. It is a great information so that next year the event of a quality jump. We already work with them so that next year the tournament will be much better.

The European is here to stay. And we hope to see you next year to consolidate this event in the world calendar of major events.

    The photos of the event:
    https://photos.app.goo.gl/8wWRK28BjGV6jkBJ2

Thanks for making it possible, See you in 2019!
