Trying to make Morats work for me in Season 9

It seems you need to take a good look on the army roster and, more importantly, on the missions you'll be playing, mate.

Your list has two options for a core fireteam, the Oznat+Hungries and the Vanguard, but I don't know what you intend to do with them. Oznat Smoke support then move up the Kurgats? If that's the case, wouldn't it be a good idea to drop one of the Ikadrons for a full hungry link, giving you more orders to fire smoke down the lane?

I would try and upgrade the Yaogat to a Suryat HMG lieutenant too, but that would require you to drop the M-drone, I think. It's still doable.

Here's a slight variant on your list that I think has more order efficiency while still packing the same tricks as your first list. Perhaps only missing the MSV from the Yaogat

 

I will just mention that our meta has a fair bit of camo (we're in the same area)

I'd probably be more inclined to take an E-Drone over a Vanguard Hacker, but it depends what you have in mind for it beyond remote-tax and supportware.

 

I don't play Morats anymore, but if I did, i think i'd do something like this... so long as we're talking generic all-comers ITS missions.

Not enough firepower in that Rodok fireteam imho. You get good mileage out of having both an hmg and a missile launcher. The assault hacker is also probably not necessary, two paramedics for specialists is fine. You might even be able to get away with one depending on the mission.

I'd also maintain that there is no such thing as an 'all-comers' list in Infinity - you should always adapt to the mission.

 

For button pushing you really want zerats, as well.

I personally might want to have yoagt msv2 sniper and vanguard missile instead of vanguard LGL, vanguard hmg and yoagat combi...but that just personal sympathy

 

this. I can't stress this enough. Play the mission, always play the mission. Some lists will be better at some missions, some at others. MAF has the largest option of fireteams in the game, use it!

I don't agree with this solely because, again, the mission is key. Also the meta they play if we're talking local stuff. If you know you're not facing a lot of camo, you can leave the sensor bot at home. And if you know you're facing a lot of infiltrators, generally the zerat stays home.

I think I'm the only player that has trouble with zerats. Mine nearly always dies without capping the objectives like she should. I have used her sucessfully a few times, but more often than not I feel like walking a team of rodoks up to the midfield yields better results.

 

Same boat, MAF are the only time I'd even consider them, I think they are the number one option button pusher and are necessary as an option in MAF, but as the lone skirmisher ahead of the rest of the line with only mimetism for comfort I find them lack luster at best.

My button pushers are usually a rodok, a vanguard or a raktorak

 

With Hunting Party take just enough specialists to cover classifieds and leave the rest at home. Stack Veterans/HQs/Elites for AHDLs, and take E/M if you can get it - Zerat E/Mitters for eg. Morats have a lot of options for dudes packing ADHLs. Rasyat is probably one of the best if you can get him on behind people and out of 8".

Same list can do Capture and Protect if you want.
Oh and practice it... I've played Hunting Party 3 times in the last month and still getting to grips with the nuances.

Edit: Hammered one out. Would cover some of the issues I've had with that mission, definitely.

@paraelix Something else to keep in mind is that Isolating your Morat specialists doesn't count as hunting them down for the Hunting Party mission. So that's nice.

For Highly Classified, the Zerat Assault Hacker can do 6/10 Classified Objectives, she's a very useful model.

For these kinda of "button-pusher" missions, you're going to need specialists to run around and do things, and Zerats have the advantage of starting pretty far up the table, among other things.

Keep in mind that @locksmith didn't provide confirmation for that one when asked, so who knows as to its veracity... that's what we've got to work on, however.

 

It shouldn't be too hard to find the points, so I'd advise swapping that existing Haris out for Kornak+Suryat+Raktorak. Gives you an whole extra order to play with, in addition to Kornak being a better gunfighter. It's one fewer ADHL, but you're hardly hurting for those as is.
