For future readers, I'll spare you the time of reading this, it's not legal it turns out. Impetuous cancels the impersonation state from the get go. Anyone used the Aragoto KHD with Cybermask to turn her into a marker that can move 14 inches before being revealed at the end of that order in safety if your opponent succeeds on their discover rolls? I feel like Indiana Jones discover some amazing hidden secret. She can take out an enemy hacker, deliver some small arms flanking support or grab an objective without being harassed because she can cover so much ground. I've been eyeing getting back into the game and been leaning heavy into JSA this time and I hope I'm right about the effectiveness of this and that CB doesn't take it away.
A trooper's Impersonation-2 state is canceled whenever: The impersonator becomes Impetuous (due to the Frenzy Characteristic or any other effect) or enters Retreat! state. In either case, the trooper loses his ability to use the Impersonation Special Skill. The trooper recovers his ability to use the Special Skill when the Retreat! situation is canceled. However, the trooper does not revert to the Impersonation-2 state. To regain an Impersonation state, the trooper must follow the Activation rules of Impersonation-1 state.
You don‘t use the Impersonation Special Skill when activating Cybermask though. This rule clearly wasn‘t written with Cybermask in mind (probably because Cybermask didn‘t exist when this rule was written) and it is therefore unclear if it should apply to Cybermask.
If you become Impetuous (because you have Frenzy and kill someone etc.) not it you already are Impetuous. Edit: Of course the rule can be interpreted that you can never be in an Impersonation-State when you have Impetuous. But that‘s only one possible interpretation, it is not stated by the rule.
Play it as you will and as you can agree with your friends, at this point you won't get any official answer on the topic as we've had no such answers the past few times it's come up. Do note that the last few times it's come up the prevailing consensus seem to be that this shouldn't be allowed and that this ambiguity is probably an oversight in the rules.
Not that it's directly relevant to N3, but in N4 the cancellation clause for IMP-2 has changed to 'is or becomes Impetuous'.

resurrecting this thread in the light of the new fireteam rules: Aragoto can go into a duo or even a haris fireteam with kuroshi now (or even some wild cards, for that matter). Does that change the judgement of aragoto KHD using cybermask to go into impersonation 2 state when in a fireteam? The fireteam cancels impetuous, which was the thing prohibiting using cybermask. Seems to me it could work now... and I would be in need of some S4 impersonation markers ;)
Troopers in a Marker state cannot join a Fireteam, in addition entering a Marker state will break Fireteam Integrity and immediately eject the trooper from the Fireteam. However, the ITS13 rules allow any bikers to forgo Impetuous and in exchange gain Mimetism -3 and cover while mounted, so an Aragoto KHD can enter the Impersonation state using this Season's rules.

New Motorcycle rules means this should get a resurrection. Motorcycles now allow you to cancel impetuous on deployment "When deploying an Impetuous Trooper with a Motorcycle, the player must choose whether the Trooper keeps the Impetuous Special Skill and therefore cannot benefit from Partial Cover, or loses the Impetuous Special Skill and therefore can benefit from Partial Cover, with no change in their Cost and SWC" So yeah, if I ever find out where people play in the west Houston area, I'll totally give that a try.
