Well, we have Ariadna in Army Builder now.

Has anyone else been playing around with list building yet?

If so are you having the same experience I am? So far, I find it amazing to build 15-25pt lists. I can take what I want and have a great deal of options.

The problem is 30pt lists. It seems almost impossible to build a coherent 30pt list with any sort of internal synergy. I simply have to take the MOST expensive units and have very few actual choices to make. Even then it’s tough.

That leads me to this conclusion.

I think the eventual TAG release is going to be a monster of a profile. I’m expecting it to clock in at the 7-9pt range. That’s the unit the faction needs to be able to have list building options in the 30pt bracket.

    Thoughts?

Well, that is actually, par for the course. Most of the factions work best at 25pts. That extra 5pts is more so for when TAGs are on the list. I think all TAGs are about 7-9 pts so it would stand to reason that Ari's TAG will be in that range. To be honest though, the Bearpode is easily a TAG killer in the list. There could be a small chance that Ariadna will not get a TAG...

My personal issue with the list is the 112 and the Kazak Docs. Like... WHY?!
Also, the lack of USARF troops. I will assume they are next on the "chopping" block for CB.

Despite that, I do like the list. Looking forward to seeing the yet shown models. Like the Scots.

There hasn’t been any indication that another Ariadna faction is soon to go OOP, but whenever it does happen, it will be USARF.

A TAG box was listed on the release schedule in the book. It’s a blurry but definitive screen capture.

The point spread on C1 TAGs is 6-9. I’m guessing the Ariadna TAG will be on the higher end. I’m guessing heavy armor, possibly crit immune and a higher bonus to burst/damage/or both. I’d love to see a +2 DAM +1 Burst APHMG and an Autocannon version in N4

I don't think Immunity is in C1 and neither is an Autocannon (one reason why the C1 Tankhunters do not have the option).
It will probably be a 7/8pts TAG, Arm 7, APHMG and thats about it. Giving them the Kitchen sink would kinda go against the design of C1 I would think.

Right. That’s why I said an N4 option for it. Like how the Kosmosoldat has an Autocannon option in N4 but not C1.

And you’re right on the immunity. Maybe in N4. It would reflect the Tesium access.

So, I was playing around with the army builder today with Ariadna. How does everyone feel about the Lieutenant options for them in C1? I'm not to thrilled with it, but I'm also pretty new so I might have missed something.

Haha, I missed read that. My bad.

Mmm... I wish there was a 'Solodat Lt but this is more an "Ariadna" vanilla equivalent list than actual Kosmoflot. If that's the case, then really, these are the "only" options.
Having said that, the Vet is going to be my go to nearly everytime. Extra order on a HMG, ARM 4, Mem-3 model? Seems fairly good for 3pts.
I always take the heaviest Lt option though.

Admittedly a newbie, but my reading of Lts in C1 is take something powerful that will survive to keep the extra order alive and useful - is that about right?

Pretty much yes. I believe there is a C1 mission where your opponent gets points for killing your Lt. So maybe if you’re playing that mission take one you can hide. Otherwise, take the meanest one you can.

Came here today to specifically ask about list building potential with just the core set. Glad to hear you think there is good variability here

I butil a 15 pts Ariadna list for a Code One demo game. Just using my TAK Action pack miniatures (using the Like Kazak miniatures as Rokots). I think its actually good for a simple game, without the need for specialists :)

    CodeOne Ariadna 15 pts
