I'll say this about the historical Karakuri, I wouldnt want to see something like those on the table. A spindly puppet is a better design for something mobile. And I wish CB didnt feel like they had to move away from the GitS idea, there was still plenty of room for CB to have their own creativity so they wouldnt feel like a rip off. I mean even the one piece face was good enough far enough removed from GitS geisha design that it was unique to CB.

Which is also why the Daiyōkai are bigger. Not enough of needed materials and manufacturing capacity to have miniaturization everywhere.

Somehow miniaturization also equals protection in this case? The karakuri are both smaller, more durable and better protected. Why is this technology reserved for sex robots and not armours and vehicles manned by the JSA ruling class?

I think the answer is that the person who developed the technology is an avowed robosexual.

Small things being more resilient could 100% work, and it’s not too hard to imagine. The trope has been used a lot in many medias before.

Maybe (just maybe), STR are an abstraction of the damage on the trooper.

Maybe a Karakuri’s inner mechanism keep functioning even if their lose a part of their body. Seemingly unaffected until completely shut down (not unlike some zombie trope).

Maybe this technology only works on small parts. (Being able to rebalance aim and movement with a missing part would be a lot harder on a TAG-sized hull)

    as i said :

And to take a real life example : an ant falling from a building onto pavement will survive, a human probably won't.

Karakuri also don't have to protect the fleshy bag of blood and organs inside them, you can have multiple redundant systems in armour but it still won't matter if the wearer takes a shot to the brain.

What thread are you replying to?
Isn't the grievence is about scale..? OP is hillariously delusional if he thinks this thread will stop the production of something that has been produced long time ago, but the gripe is about scale, unless I'm mistaken.

"And size isn't even the problem, it's the scale"
So what are the dimensions of a real Karakuri? You have to know the dimensions of the real thing to know if it's scaled correctly or not. Seems like that's the size CB wants their miniaturized killer fem bots to be.

Sure, but that goes out the window when you see that an entire moving part like a limb is thinner than a solid plate on a Daiyokai. So even if the system was 100% solid made out of its strongest part this doesn't make sense. Furthermore, the material is described as "reinforced steel". Hardly something rare in the world of vehicle armour.

Here is the kind of answer that makes sense both in universe and in reality, but then O-yoroi pilots are idiots for not bolting karakuri to the glacis plates of their TAGs.

Have you ever noticed how thicker wire is harder to bend than thinner wire?

This is like comic books. Scale and design changes on what needs to be cool at the time and make the character more interesting. If anything, it's the Garuda BSG is too big. But then it will look tiny in it's hands because the rest of him is big.

I know right? Who would have thought we'd see anime and manga style designs in a setting inspired by anime and manga! In the Japanese faction too!

Well, the whole “I know better than the creators what this unit should look like” genre is always entertaining.

We've got a mental gymnast here. I'm using other models in the faction and their profiles as a reference. If you going to invent positions to debate invent a better one. Are you denying the Karakuri are very thin?

We shouldn't embrace anything just because it has been in a Japanese comic. They produce a lot of trash too that no one with taste should want to see in INFINITY.

Huanglong, no mental gymnastics required. If your and Wuji's argument is that the SCALE is wrong, then you have to know what the actual height, width and length of a real Karakuri are.
Since you don't have those, your argument is nonsense.
If you don't like the models, you don't like the models but don't try to invent a BS reason to justify it.

That's your opinion and while you're entitled to it it doesn't make it correct nor enforceable. The poll set up by @wuji pretty much shows that the community disagrees. You're not the one who runs the show. Don't phrase your comments like they're truth and not just opinions.
